Not sure why you were downvoted. Some good points in here.

1) The fact that many things in life can be abused does not mean that they are the exact same thing as porn...People can have problematic consumptions of all the things you listed, but...(1) people are already talking about the negative effects of videos games + social media + news, and (2) these things require their own separate conversations. More importantly: though all the things you listed can have negative effects and can be consumed "addictively" to some degree, none of them give the same…

Respectfully, you're wrong about porn. As a society we vastly underestimate both its addictive nature and the damage it causes to people. Of course, a lot of people have no problem with their usage. But a lot of people definitely do - often even without realizing it. You can 100% be anti-porn without being motivated by puritan considerations at all. It isn't socialism per say that will help, but merely finding something to dedicate oneself to. A project bigger than a mere interest; an identity. I suggested /r/socialism because politics of that type happen to help me shape an identity for myself; to forge both personal convictions and a character of my own. This is something I feel is important to do before entering into any relationship.

Here goes my first post ever on Reddit. It's normal to feel the way you do. I'm 21 and I've never had a "girlfriend" either, just some silly puppy love thing a couple times. I've also never had sex to completion with a girl, yet I consider myself attractive and people tell my friends they think I am. It can be hard on self-esteem when you see other guys getting with girls seemingly so easily. So here: you've got a kind face with a good bone structure (you're lucky) and nice lips (no homo). You h…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
