Like the anology of oxygen masks on a plane. If they trigger, put yours on first before trying to help others.

Hey OP, my grandmother forced my grandpa to propose in the 1920s. They were in their 30s and soon had my mom.

I think the word struggle works better here, be it chosen or imposed. I read somewhere the Buddhist maxim "life is suffering" was slightly mistranslated or misunderstood. It should be "there is suffering in life" i.e. not that life is suffering in and of itself.

I've witnessed my statement play out for real, often enough, over my many years. While this reality is unique to the West, to suggest it's only misogyny is pure gaslightig on your part.

Men are told to do the right thing. Women are told to do what's right for them.

If one settles with a practical arrangement and similar values, hopefully love indeed comes later, but if not it could lead to a dead bedroom, which may hurt a husband who loves his wife and is attracted to her. Thoughts?

May I suggest something like "well, I have one sin and regret it so much. To rectify things I went celibate for X amount of time to reflect and grow.. " Or something like that in your own words.
