Little House on the Prairie, The Chronicles of Narnia, Bridge to Terabithia, Coraline, We Have Always Lived in the Castle, Tales of Canterbury (you might have to read this one aloud), Norse Mythology, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland Also for reference I recommend providing her with a World Atlas and a Webster's dictionary. This will enable her curiosity. (Encyclopedias too if you can afford them)

We want to bring back the traditional, feminine archetype.

How was he a loser? Did you have more motivation and aspirations than him? Just wondering because my current relationship sounds similar.

After living with roommates and my SO for four years, I can only tell you that living with your SO exclusively will be a relief. It just seems like a man and a woman are supposed to live in the same house alone, because if you live with others the hierarchical scale comes into play. Nothing charms me more than the concept of living alone with my man. You can do it!

Rebel Without a Cause includes a good portrayal of parenthood. It's neat seeing the first generation of modernism clash with traditionalists.

Yeah, go figure. Well this thread has been enlightening in the sense of discovering I am horrible and terrible. What do you suggest? Anything constructive? Would therapy cure my wretched soul? Being a nuisance is the last thing I want, I believe that I've improved from the past.

He is a scrub. He never cuts his nails, he allows his facial hair to grow out without grooming it, and wears smelly clothes with food stains on them. Would you find that attractive?

It would be difficult to abandon everything I am used to. Have you ever been unfaithful? I'd love to debate you on morality but it's against the guidelines. I'll assume you mean a Nuclear family man.

I contemplate life daily. Not just mine, but everyone's. Would it not be selfish to constantly have self-improvement on my mind? I do respect everyone around me when they deserve it. Yet I'm a horrible person. Who knew?

I see how your income helped create a stable environment for your family. That was wise planning. You're right, I don't know what it's like to be alone. I don't have a social group outside of my household and I don't really know where to look. Everyone I've tried welcoming into my life, my SO has disapproved of. Then again, they were potential beta orbiters. College may help with sociality. I was a loner a majority of my teenage years, so my social skills are weak.

Thanks for starting off your reply with insults. I can't really take what you're saying seriously now. If I am typically submissive (especially around men) why would I have desire to be self-supporting? Anyhow, I currently do have an income and generally take care of myself. Perhaps women should be emotionally self-supporting? I'm not married.

Thank you for one of the more kind responses. Do you think change is possible with so many people influencing my life? I have a past history of being a cowardly 'people pleaser'. If I were to abandon my current peers, I'd feel like that would be giving up entirely. I want to make this work.

Why do men leave their shoes everywhere? My SO does this too. He'll toss his clothes all across the room and I always have to pick up after him. Do they ever stop? I've told him he is the reason why the room is consistently messy. He doesn't care.

My current boyfriend of three years has said the same demeaning thing before. It's only when we argue, but that's when the truth seems to leak out. Is this a manipulation tactic?

I feel this way also on my worst days. I have tons of acne scars that make my face appear rough and uneven in the sunlight. Using different products with aloe and vitamin c have helped them fade. I'm sure you have some nice features! Focus on those, and if you use makeup, accentuate them! Also changing up your hairstyle helps you feel more cute.

Funny how you say only the socially inept ones are online, do you, I, and OP fall beneath those categories then?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
