That's not what people do. Like one of three other comments here. Instead of moving forward, they move backward and simply complain one exists and not the other. Starting arguments like "which is worse" that never get resolved. Focus on the negatives of MGM instead and use that as a reason to ban it. FGM being banned is behind us. That is a good thing, leave it there and move on. The constant complaining and whining serves no purpose.

What do you mean by "ignore the oppression Olympics" The competition to find out who is now ordered. It's pointless and does nothing to create argument that is never responded. And many forms of MGM are much worse than FGM. why you only focus in the forms of fgm that are worse and ignore the forms that mgm are worse ?! you are biased. I have an example. It's not being focused and if you take the whole point of my comment, you'll realise there definitely no focus on one side. Because all laws ban…

While I think comparing as a question of "should anything new done?" it's stupid. Answer is yes and ignore the oppression Olympics To say asking the question is revolting is stupid. It's a fair question. But saying the two are different is not against equality. They are different, even forms of FGM which goes as far as cutting and reshaping the vagina to almost seal it shut, scraping and all sorts of stuff. Many forms of FGM are much worse than MGM. You can recognise this while accepting that bo…

Weddings. I was glad I come from Scotland and there's extra options available for the groom. Walk to a wedding in England and unless you know the groom you have no idea which one he is.

Some things just shouldn't be a gendered thing. It's dangers there for people not for men or woman, people. Making it gendered just does this argument crap. Why do people use crap like this.

Most aren't. A few here forget that (not meaning you just at incase I accidentally imply that). I think a few here spend too much time with this stuff that they it seems like all weekend are like this. I started doing that but I've cut back. I think some of those extreme feminists do exactly that. Surround yourself with hate and it seems everything is hateful.

I think it's a good question. I assumed this was an American number, perhaps people in India assumed this too and someone who needed to know if this may have missed it. It may be worth building a list for all countries.

We did it in Dunkirk and in countless similar films by remembering the sacrifices of millions of men in WW2 just so we could celebrate maleness.

My first thought though different reasons. Prosecution likely didn't think she'd give such a statement in court. So they probably went for the lower crime to get her.

That's not woman. That's just that type of person. Plenty of men do exactly the same thing. People at the high end of their game do it especially.

Here goes - Reproductive rights: I believe legal termination should be an option for men in cases of unwanted pregnancy, perhaps with gestational age limits similar to those women have when making the choice to have an abortion. There should be leniency in cases where the father finds out later about the pregnancy (incl if the child is already born) - perhaps he should be able to legally terminate within 12 weeks of finding out? The hard-won freedom to make an autonomous decision about something…

Those were the mistakes from the past and they aren't learning from them. People shouting at men in the streets didn't make the difference. Woman announcing death to all white men didn't make the differencve. Woman (and men) who fought hard in the courts to change the law made the difference. The suffragettes didn't sream and shout at people during protests, sure violent ones existed but nobody took them too seriously or did things for them (why would they?). Woman have done really well. Since when do I let others tell me what a feminist is./ isn't Since you agreed with the new feminists what feminism is about. Letting them take over the cause and forgetting what feminism is. Christina Hoff Sommers is a feminist in name only. She's basically excommunicated from the movement. Mainstream feminists don't consider her a feminist. She's being shown as a liar who lied to get US citizenship. She's being shown as a terrorist and is getting her citizenship revoked and removed. She was being hailed as a great feminist leader (to those that thought so) and now she's not. The article discusses whether the punishment was harsh enough. What the article doesn't discuss is gender issues such as would a male terrorist have faced the same issues? It's just not mentioned. You're pulling something from the article that the article isn't…

All you have is pussy pass hear say from a story on illegal immigration. This article doesn't discuss differences in gender. Find an article that actually discusses male Vs female sentencing then you have an article relevant for this sub.

Then instead how about not letting them win. How about giving credit and voice to the good ones and say, hey they're still there. They still matter. These idiots calling themselves feminists are not real feminists. They're fucking idiots who think they're feminists. You let them win over the good ones and continue to spread their message that they're now feminists and the others aren't. I trust to do that. Feminism has been an amazing thing for 100s of years. I think it's worth saving.

What the fuck is going on here. You are discounting the feminists who would be with us because other feminists say they are unacceptable? And they're the enemy, unless they're for gender equality, in which case they're good feminists but of course they aren't acceptable feminists to the real feminists and for some reason we're to disregard them them. And then you give a reason as to why bad feminists write, for some reason which isn't the case as of the initial person in the comment. I'm not sur…

You're free to post it to /r/news whenever you like. I could spend the whole day flooding this sub with news of womans crimes. Maybe we could filter it somehow, maybe to topics that actually broach the rights of men? Alsop there's /r/redpill which is anti feminist as hell. But it's very hate filled there, almost anti-woman. I don't like the feel of the sub. This is what I'm trying to stop it turning into.

I'm going to cut your quotes short because this post will be big and I don't want 50% of my comment to be quotes. Wall of text and all that. Anyone reading this please read the above first. None of that justifies this kind of action. They're hurting their own cause. They hurt their own name. Despite what happens at college, in the real world when are turning their backs on these people. The biggest problem with this WHOLE thing is enemies. Feminists aren't the enemy, they're just mistaken and have been taken in by wrong facts. The war is to educate them and say Hey, we all have issues, lets all work together for true equality. If you consider yourself an equal rights activist you can't just start throwing this shit at feminists as you just fuel their fire. You have to be above that. Again. What has that got to do with mens rights? Very interesting article again but you can't just post any article about a woman and spin it into a mens issue. That's the first thing we complain about when the extreme feminists do it.
/r/MensRights28/03/17 04:13 PM
2

So that's my exact point. There's nothing actually here about mens rights. Just a story about something different and you point out that a man would likely have no been treated that way. No stats comparing the two. Not even a story to show the opposite. gender wasn't even raised in the article other than to point out who she was as a person. It's fluff.
/r/MensRights28/03/17 03:05 PM

Either way it's not something that needs to be here. Posting the article is just us pointing and laughing.
/r/MensRights28/03/17 01:20 PM

But the article isn't even anything to do with womans rights either. It's a woman being arrested for illegal gaining entry into the US and being arrested for it.
/r/MensRights28/03/17 01:14 PM
15

I think the idea OP went for is that a man wouldn't have been let off so easy. However I don't want the sub to turn into a sub that just points out anything that a woman does wrong. That's just hatefulness. Needs to be an objective difference in the same circumstances.
/r/MensRights28/03/17 12:00 PM

The difference between care for adults and children is worlds apart. So much so it demands completely different skill sets, training etc. The difference between men and women is not. It also doesn't take much to add to the website. "For male victims place call xxxxxxxxxxxxxx or visit othersite.com instead of having no, go away.

I'm not that guy who you replied to btw. It doesn't have to fully serve but they should turn them to men's groups at the least. Ahhhh. I'd edit your comment. It makes it sound like these only serve straight couples. Like the woman's group turns away lesbians and the mens groups turns away gay men.
/r/MensRights21/03/17 12:33 AM

But to turn them away? To show them that they aren't welcome? They may help over the phone but their website shows otherwise. They couldn't divert them to another service? These people make a big jump to reach out and it could be a one shot attempt. To turn them away can really undo that.

What does sexuality matter here? Nobody mentioned lesbian or straight.

I'm not demonizing woman. I'm demonizing these domestic violence services that turn away domestic violence victims. Websites just for men included. I agree with separate shelters and help groups you go to. However websites and helplines as the first port of call and face of where people go to get help should help guide everyone to where they need to go, not turn them away.
/r/MensRights20/03/17 11:53 PM

At worst for men I think they'd get a sorry you'll have to call someone else kind of thing. (which is so very wrong). For the lesbians I imagine e they'd get the same treatment as straight woman. The advice post I mentioned I did ask if he could call the number. I did specifically point out he did not have to and I also gave him a mens support line. I'd be curious to know if they handle woman too.

I read this. In fact it was this page that made me want to post this. I assumed men could phone anyway but the below seems clear. Women and children experiencing, or who have experienced, domestic violence Friends and family seeking to support women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, domestic violence ‘Professionals’ supporting women and children experiencing domestic violence
/r/MensRights20/03/17 10:15 PM

That's exactly what i ment. They don't reference men as victims. Men can call if they're supporting victims.
/r/MensRights20/03/17 07:20 PM

I was about to comment to the advice thread to call it anyway since they'd accept it regardless. However when i read the who can call it didn't say men or even a general term like anyone (expect when referencing family/friends/co-workers of the abused). If a men's group is doing the same thing to woman that doesn't make it ok. That's two groups doing a horrible thing. At the least there should be a mention of where men can go to for help.
/r/MensRights20/03/17 06:15 PM

Not that's not the point. The point is that we've been appealed at this for years and how unfair it is and now woman are too and both men and woman are right to be appaled at disproportionate payouts. They have the right to think it's appalling because this behaviour is appalling. Read the whole article, you have no right to judge an article if you didn't read it.

Telling Theresa may she's a bitch is going to do what? That is just abuse and there's no need for it. Tell her what she's doing with a certain thing like brexit, NHS etc. is wrong then that's fine. If you follow it up by saying she's a bitch for doing it then it's harsh but still good. Simply saying she's a bitch does nothing. Another argument is that woman weren't allowed to do those jobs. At the end of the day we shouldn't be arguing. We should be celebrating what both men and women have accomplished over the years. Men and women both work hard to provide for their families. Be it keeping the house clean and feeding their children or building roads. It all needs done and we all pitched in. Yay humanity. We've come to an even better point where people can just about do any job they like as long as they can do it well…

Literally just UK and well, just Scotland really as the UK is devided into 3 groups on these stat collection. Scotland England NI. Remember though. Your numbers are still valid to one of my origonal points which was supported by some figures I gave earlier. Number of marriages vs divorces =/= likeliness of getting divorced. There is the fact that of multiple divorcees. POeople who have been divorced 2,3,4 or more times (god help those people) affect the conclusion you are drawing. Oversimplified…

I got my stats from the link I provided. If that isn't good enough what about the BBC or Telegraph. Scotland is different from England and Wales which are often grouped seperately from Scotland and NI. I can't find 2016 stats. Oh and according to the office for national statistics England and Wales are down too. Source. Unless NI are really dropping the ball on this the UK as a whole is doing pretty well. Now we do have the highest in the EU according to this article but that's at a 0.28% rate. …

Dude. That's a pretty good thing. When I look up UK equivalent stats it gets even better. You can tell me all I want but the figures day otherwise. Why divorce? That's a bit of an asshole assumption based on absolutely no knowledge on either person other than one wants to be a full time dad. The average case was enforced by law. Now it is free and legal. What's stopping it changing? Also remember the average is held up by statistics which are misrepresented. 20-34% of marriages end up in divorce (UK, depending in where you read your stats). Now you're think that's your chance of getting a divorce. However that's skewed slightly be serial di…

This should be obvious. It's historical. First. It's just what they did anyway. Woman stayed at home, men went to work. Then woman got to work but we still made the big bucks and when it came time start a family woman had to stay home while the baby needs constant parental time and the man earns the money. Now we're broke all that and it should have changed. We are a bit late to the game but we're changing it. In the UK we have it. Shared leave. First two weeks is the woman's, you know to physic…

To me it sounds the same as One implies separate earnings for the same jobs based on gender(paying men more than women because patriarchy). My wife told me to do something once as it was the manly thing to do(similar wording anyway). I then asked why I do the ironing and washing and not her. She said it was sexist then realised where I was going. She hasn't said anything like that again.

Not the same but something rang true to me. I do most of the chores round my house, whenever I bring copies with my mum (need to go hang up the washing or whatever) she says "oh its nice to see a man doing some chores for a change". I always have to tell her I do most of them and she goes kinda silent. Annoys me every time.

Not 100%. A judge found this out and ruined the whole thing exposing them and the press fairly reported it. This is a win... Sad for the poor boys though. Also, remember that the media never reports the OK stuff, just the worst of stuff. I know a few guys who split up with their partners and see there kids all the time and even have good relationships with their parents. Woman aren't running wild doing shit to us. The issue is once a candidate comes out and says a popular theory such as the wage gap. The others have to follow suit or risk being labelled sexist. The majority of voters won't read into statistics and will beleive the hype more than the numbers. It's at the point where if a candiate knew it was bullshit they'd best say it's true. It does specifically mention that it applies to both genders so it's not really men's rights in this occasion but more of a specific man's rights in this occasion. Someone mentioned he has a previous history and is on the sex offenders register. If true this is a more understandable situation but no source on that.
/r/MensRights24/01/16 02:16 AM

Well personally I don't believe in the freedom to own guns but that's beside the point. The point is that countries won't simply copy each other as was your reason we should do this. In the UK circumcisions isn't done for anything other than medical reasons. Parents don't consider circumcising their children.
/r/MensRights23/01/16 09:33 PM
1

I'll agree with the MGM comment. That's because of similarities in culture and media influencing. It's not governments copying each other. Even then what about gun laws again? Nobody is copying America and America certainly won't be copying then anytime soon. Euthanasia is legal in Sweden but hasn't spread through Europe. Some pressure from people but not a topic with the government. Countries aren't simply copying each other.
/r/MensRights22/01/16 06:37 PM
2

Well gun laws I'll go back to. World is very separated on that. Even very similar countries. Drug laws. Smaller laws like speeding and punishment for certain crimes. Euthanasia also is legal in some places but not others. Nigeria even made female genial mutilation illegal mid last year but that's not spread either unfortunately.
/r/MensRights22/01/16 05:25 PM

What did you think I asked for? The world is full of contradictions to each other. It's caused wars, strife, segregation, all sorts of atrocities in the world. Religion would be a huge factor in this decision. If what you said was true the world wouldn't be the way it was
/r/MensRights22/01/16 04:55 PM

One country and one state of one country hardly holds up your argument. No evidence there to support that policy affected. Germany whatsoever. One state of one country and one country on the other side of the planet making the same decision doesn't mean they made it because of each other.

I think these people are so few that it's not a cycle. If you take someone who murdered a single person they can be rehabilitated or attempted to be at least. Repeat murderers? Or someone who killed a bunch of people they didn't know? There's a line.

No but you can kill someone who steps out into the road at the wrong time. You can bump into someone in a train station platform and cause them to fall in front of the train and you can accidentally scare someone with a heart condition and trigger a heart attack. I didn't mention guns.
/r/MensRights16/01/16 08:04 AM

None of what you said matters. We should still tell people to not hurt people (all interpretations). Of course it's going to happen but that doesn't mean we should stop telling people it's bad. My point is that we shouldn't tell people not to specify sex when saying hurting is bad.

They can. I would encourage feminists to speak out against those they believe have gone to far. I speak out (at least on these forums) against MRAs who voice an opinion I disagree with. The more we encourage that behavior the more balanced things become. I always argue that with people. People view feminists as one group of proper who have identical values. Which of course it isn't, any group that large is just impossible to have that. He is sorta hitting a point though. Put this statistics to modern day where woman are allowed to join the armed forces makes sense. It's just a bit of fun gender rivalry. I love the old boys vs girls fun, as long as that's the level it keep then that's great. There's nothing serious to these things. I support them from both sides. If someone wants to take them seriously then I'll deal with them, not the book.

Either you could take a woman to court saying you weren't aware and/or there should be a signed document for both parties at an ultrasound or some such event which could mandatory.
/r/MensRights19/10/15 02:18 AM
12

Then you take it up in court saying you had no prior knowledge of the baby. There should be a legal process of notifying process as \u\occupythekitchen mentioned. Perhaps come three months at an ultrasound there should be legal papers signed by the mother and father on future involvement in the childs life given to the doctor. Not the best solution but something along those lines.

I agree and wanted to add to it by saying that any law that has abortions can't be done after X weeks should be the same for the choice on being the paternal parent.
/r/MensRights18/10/15 10:25 PM

I don't believe a man should be able choose for a woman to have an abortion. It's not our bodies. We should be able to opt out of fatherhood but the decision should be done by the same date as the legal date for abortion. A parent can't opt out of being a parent 2 days before the birth leaving the other one in the dark.

She asked me to help her blur out the faces of the photos she takes at work (for the nursery facebook page) as many parents didn't consent to their kids having their photo taken like that.

It's a hell of an accusation. I know I can deal with the one person shouting acquisitions. I don't want to have to stand up to an audience and explain that I'm not a pedophile. I certainly don't think avoiding that is a crazy thing to do.

Yeah but I still don't want to shout at people in public. And even if you are 100% sure nobody thinks anything of you it's still incredibly embarrassing afterwords. I would rather not be accused like that in the first place, surely that's understandable.

Chick "extreme" in front of scorn. Those kind of accusations are a bit above the weird action. Being an agile isn't the right thing to do. It was an example. Besides it 's more than an argument. I do not need to be accused of that in public. Often these things are guilty until proven innocence and they issue would be there wouldn't be a trial to prove anything. Parents make their assumptions about me and I don't go back out of pure embarrassment. I like that place as does my niece and nephew. His response is great. I tihnk it really just shows that while this company is doing the right thing it's the marketing that's the issue. You could ocmplain at response no.2 being unbiased but this could simply be down to demand. You might not have enough men seeking aid from them (possibly due to horendous marketing) that they cannot justify the upkeep of a male shelter so a hotel is more cost effective in the longrun.

I'm not sure what you are are asking with the first question. With the second, yes autocorrect. OK. I'm guessing you have foreskin. Imagine the head of your penis starts growing (not erection growing but actually physically bigger). If the foreskin you have now can't expand to compensate for the size of the new head of the penis it will just constrict it. It's the truth though and goes along with my experience. When fighting for a cause you need to know the facts. These are the facts. Not everyone will have a bad experience. If you run around saying "all men will have a bad experience with it" those against that view will have proof to oppose your view. Fight with the truth, not with what you want the truth to seem to appear

Not cool. If this was posted with a man the burning his kids and the woman talking like this we would be ( and rightly so) posting #notallmen. We should not be compared with Charles Mansen so let's not compare them to this psyc…

I don't disagree. The severity of this though separates it from General child abuse, it can't be compared and I doubt even the worst feminists try to make excuses for her. The article says nothing of anything regarding gender either so why is it here?

True but the severity of this crime it's not a gender issue. It's not being shown as one in this article either.

Sorry but for me it's still incredibly uncommon. If we're to avoid the unfavourable treatment (as we do) then we need to avoid appearing like we're labelling woman as psychopaths.

I agree but untill I see a significant rise in woman igniting their children I'm inclined to say this is not a feminine issue but an isolated case.

I agree. But how often do any woman IGNITE THEIR FUCKING CHILDREN. This is beyond that example.

We don't get taken seriously enough. We need to stop grabbing scraps like wild dogs and find the facts, surveys, legal cases etc.

This goes beyond child abuse. This is murder. She is a pure psychopath, calling her a child abuser is like calling Charles Manson a mugger

We know this. I feel the point of this sub is to show that men are treated unfairly in society. This shows a single one of case. We need to stay focused on that. This post adds fuel to the fire that we may be some woman hating group which we all know isn't the case, we need to try and avoid these.

Why was this posted here? It's one extremely bad story about a woman. This is exactly what we complain the bad feminists do. Post single stories about isolated events done by a man. They then paint us all with the story. Don't do the same or we look bad. The article doesn't say she wasn't convicted or anything. It's simply stating the facts like a good article should do. Come back if she gets away with it.

I'm from the UK but popular news tends to be not as dumb as some of the worst American stuff but it's the same idea, popular channels favour human interest over factual news. It was similar when I lived in Australia. I imagine it's similar universally.

You but it depends what TV you are watching. Unfortunately the popular channels publish the craps.

It's always nice to see a level headed person here who judges properly. You measured a feminist fairly and judged justly. Well done. I see too many MRAs judge feminists the same way they say feminists shouldn't. We need many more like you.

I agree with everything you say but this isn't about gender equality. Its about parents being abusive and2 they fail at that saying ANYTHING to win control back. They would tell him he was born a monkey if it gained control back.

The feminist movement is founded upon and based around woman's right, they are absolutely linked. They branch off sometimes though. I said their wasn't one large group, am I wrong? If I'm being patronising then I apologize, I font won't to offend. I don't know if their is one that acts in the interest of men, I doubt there is since it's a feminist movement but I would love to be shown otherwise. That's neither here nor their. Also I based my feminism point based on my experience, not his. I have…

They wouldn't join in the first place if that was the case. You would maybe be right but I think it's worth a shot, worth the fight. It would have to be headed by people who see both sides equally.

Feminism is a wide array of groups from those commenting on red dit to protesters. You've gotten stuck in one view of one group that you see as the whole thing. It's not.

So, what, we give upon woman's rights?

Thank you and returned. Yes it's hard, ideally having a men's rights group and female rights groups aren't really ideal. There should be an equality group fighting for both sides, not just the one. This way we fight side by side to stand side by side.

You don't give up on an entire gender because of a handful of bitches. I assume since you've subscribed to this subreddit that your for male equality. Have you not met any male assholes? I have met some right fuckers in my time and I'm still for male equality.

Wow no. This is on the high end of the bad experience scale. The other end would be working with a lazy girl who says she won't get promoted because she's a female. You are going to start a lot of dumb arguments talking like this. You'll notice the topic we are talking about is her experience, so I related my comment to that, why wouldn't I? Learn to pick up on please.

Don't stop being a feminist, this experience will make you a better one. You now have the ability to look at a situation and think " is she being oppressed or is it her own fault". See a woman not getting promoted where all her superiors were men. Maybe she just isn't that good, maybe she is. You can weigh this now. Just remember that there are still woman out there being oppressed.

People are looking at this with the rapist in mind. Are you all forgetting a child is involved? The child should now be the number one concern. You have a child, either do everything you can to raise it or pay child support. I of course understand you are the victim and shouldn't be forced to pay child support but you are the #2 reponsibilty here. I believe the fact you were raped is less of a concern on the well being of a child and you have a responsibility to that child. If it was all to be d…

Stereotypes can lead to discrimination, though not the sole cause. Fighting one stereotype with another is fighting for with fire. People can't just say Men aren't like that because some are and that's how the stereotype came around in the first place. We need to say I'm not like that and there are many like me.
