A good habit to build it to talk to everyone. Talking to everyone can help you create the flow they are looking for when it comes to talking to women within college. Simple approach is to ask about the dog, you show interest in the dog and not onto her directly. however moving from the dog to her, you can ask about her if she allows you to pet the dog and has any interest in you disrupting the walk they're on. Be kind and simple and not nosey. "Hey I love the dog it has beautiful features or whatever I would like a dog too, what made you get this little guy?" Is a great start.
