Yeah that's why I do really think intentions matter when using 'women and children', though what I said was generally more about how that is used more as an emotional appeal to heighten the seriousness. I don't think I've seen many use that as a way to subtly decrease the number. It's usually a way to paint a part of the population as undeniably innocent (and in the process accepting men as potentially non-innocent). First off, 'women and children' rhetoric isn't a driver of culture as much as it's just one aspect of it. There is no way around that there is misandrist bias involved at some level. If that language is used by people who don't see the issue at all, they are the problem. But if it's a bigger issue than just gender politics, using that sort of language to softly manipulate those people to a better position is fine imo. 30	It is cool to see a political candidate have policies to improve the lives of some men Sometimes universal policy does disproportionately benefit certain groups, so if for a few of these others might also benefit, that's not a bad thing. 2	Anyone else feel conflicted about voting left due to how dismissive and condescending the discourse on men has become? Men are unfairly reduced to violent, unemotional providers, with no space to address their issues. While I oppose conservative policies, this still frustrates me. They absolutely do. To take one issue they have ramped up on a lot lately, immigration. It's almost never that the "evils" are women (although conservatives doesn't like minority women either). When they say immigrants are rapists and criminals, they very much tie that to men doing those things.
