I wonder what happened to the male pill? I thought they were working on it back in the 90s.

"For example, when I have brought up mens lack of reproductive rights, I have been told "well they can choose not to have sex." so what reproductive rights do you want? The ability to force a woman to have an abortion? the ability to force the woman to gestate the fetus? The ability to abandon the child at your whim? Serious question.

1) Usually when human rights are discussed with men on reddit, it must involve both men and women. If women are abused, its called a domestic issue or a cultural issue. (these are my experiences with several male redditors and I am allowed to express my opinion without getting bashed [another experience with several male redditors in this subreddit].) 2) Xlirate made a dismissive statement.

exactly what it means. it was a response to xlirates statement that sex trafficking is not a very large issue. I beg to differ.

Doing more studies will shine a brighter light on this to the point that even the media can't ignore of manipulate it.

I agree about the victimhood. But i have not seen feminism telling women that men are oppressing women. I am sure some feminists say this but some also talk about women keep each other down as well. The whole twitter feed is about that individual expressing themselves. People can say whatever they want. They should not have to tip toe around sensitive egos. You really are generalizing feminists to the point of bias. I am sure, in fact I know there are shady women out there. As a woman I don''t t…

I had issues viewing the tables. Now that I have examined them I see what you are talking about. This is a issue that needs to be discussed. More studies need to be done. I would like to see the methods and sample sizes used.

Or the data the non-scientific article discusses was cherry picked, or fell within the standard deviation, or the sample numbers were poor, or the methods were poor. That is why I wish I could study the results and methods.

I think that you are taking it personal. It is about their experiences and opinions. Believe it or not women have had shitty experiences with me. They exist. They aren't as rare as you might think. Hopefully it is different now, but when I dated I had to play avoid the asshole. The women on my mother's side of my family married abusive men that would kick and beat them bloody. This isn't that far back. You make it sound like they are berating all men but they are simply expressing an experience …

a creep is a person that give off a danger vibe. A creep is a person that sets off instinctual alarms, intuition, that tells you that there is a good chance you'll be in a trash bag at the end of the night if you get alone with this person. The creep may not be violent but they give off the impression that they are perfectly capable. Creep vibes set off survival instinct and cause alertness, possibly fear and maybe panic. Good looks, money, athletic ability, artistic ability cannot compensate fo…

This was decades ago that my feminist friends said what they said. I understand fully the difference. You are making the assumption that I do not. In fact, its actually insulting. You need to stop assuming the person that you are talking doesn't "get it", especially after they have demonstrated that they do in fact "get it".

Not surprising because it is an abstract and usually they only have the most basic information. I think what has always bothered me is the inability for many to have access to the results. It also bothers me that the science zeitgeist is influenced by what is published. There are so many studies done that demonstrate the null hypothesis but it is isn't very interesting to publish those. But this causes a skewed perception of reality. I haven't trusted the media since 9-13-2001. The rabbit hole i…

That is the issue. I cannot verify anything that is being said. since I cannot verify it myself I will hold judgement until I can. They should do some more studies.

You make blanket assumptions based off the fear that someone will be ignorant. Sorry but I haven' t begun to notice how feminism can be the opposite of what it claims to be. I have had understanding for a long time that a vast majority of ideals and human institutions can become corrupt. This is due to lazy thinking on the part of humans and ratings grabs by the media.

I see what they are getting at. How the subject/person defines abuse. How the person reacts to the word abuse (whether they would admit to it or not) I still don't see where the data indicates that boys under report and that more boys are sexually abused than girls.

Maybe. it gets better with time. Of course to helps to get pickier about people. But that's hard fighting the loneliness.

so you are assuming out of fear. There are irrational idiots in every group and they tend to be the loudest and talk the most frequent. I am a stay at home mother. I chose to do that but when I mentioned to some of my feminists friends that I was going to stay home I was looked on with such disdain. The sneers were palpable. I did have one friend that knew what feminism was about, the ability to make the choice. But I get you. Ignorant blather is rampant and college degrees do nothing to remedy …

Depends on where you live. The university I attended it happened at least once a season. I don't care what the "experts" on TV say. I do care what the local police says. You have to keep in mind there is the continental statistics and then there is local statistics. As a woman walking to my car, I am not going to be concerned what the statistics are in the west coast if I live in the New York area.

I must have missed it but I did not find your claim. maybe it is in the full article, but alas I have no funds to verify if that claim is in The American Journal of preventive medicine article. http://www.ajpmonline.org/article/S0749-3797%2805%2900078-4/abstract here is a CDC summary of their study. again i did not find your claim. http://www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/pdf/sv-datasheet-a.pdf From what I read under reported cases of sexual assault are far more common for both sexes.

I for one was told to shut up when I complained and I am female but I was also surrounded by assholes. In fact I was mocked by other girls once they found out about my abuse. I hope that you find people that truly care for you.

That's child abuse. Women experience it as well. That isn't a male vs female thing. that is a childhood thing. It is equally traumatic and causes a lot of coping issues if not properly addressed, and even if properly addressed. A child abused in such a way, will grow up demoralized and believe that they deserved it. Many women under report rape because society has conditioned them that they asked for it. Most will not be believed and many would just as soon to forget it than deal with the humili…

That implies that many women have to buy pepper spray because they fear getting raped..because it happens with enough frequency. School officials tell women to walk with buddies when going to their cars because it happens. You are being unrealistic in your expectations and making assumptions that when women makes statements such as these it applies to all men.

Old stereotypes die hard. and the ones that take the longest to die tend to have some truth. The facts are these: we only know what we experience. you don't hear of it happening often. usually if you do it is because the woman got a weapon. men typically, are stronger. So it seems absurd when you hear of it. it is what it is.

You should reflect within yourself. Getting other peoples opinions can be reassuring but it makes insight more difficult to attain.

Talk to your inner self. You trust yourself, don't you? I will agree with the Great Buddha, attachment is the cause of all suffering. Attachment to things an attachment to ideas.

Meditation. (Reflective, stillness, and creative.) Singing. proper sleep, or sometimes just a nap (no joke, if you are in a shit mood and really angry with the world, if you can, take a nap) Go out into nature if you can. maintain a balanced diet and make sure you are not deficient in some things. The sense of Self-efficacy (the feeling that one has control over the situation) is very very important to human mental and emotional health. If the human does not feel they have control they will try …

Are you all men? are you going to take everything said about a man personally? Are you responsible for Bill Gates wealth? Are you responsible for the most recent shithead to go off on a rampage? You act like you are being attacked personally. If you are worried that lazy thinkers won't understand what the tweets were about then you are wasting your time on idiots. You can't help an idiot. If its the image perpetuated by the media, just remember there are billboards with naked women all over the …

You are grasping at straws. He was a open misogynist. His false sense of entitlement and anger greatly influenced his decision to kill. He chose to kill.
