The First Amendment only exists to prevent the government from being able to tell you what you can and can't say. It doesn't extend to the point where it has anything to do with dictating morality or the repurcussions stemming from exercised free speech.

It's fine that it's free speech, but it isn't a First Amendment issue. It's your right to not support companies that try to make men seem like monsters. If Steve Jobs came up to you and told you that you should have been aborted, that's his right, but it's also your right to not buy Apple products anymore. If the "pink tax" has any legitimacy, it's because Gillette sends 18 year-old men who sign up for the selective service a free razor. This is their revenge. Boghossian, Lindsay and Pluckrose exposed the feminist "peer-reviewed" journals they submitted their papers to, played by their rules, and still managed to publish a lot of their work, and it was a huge hit to those publications. Now those publications and the community are hitting back in the only way they know how. I would highly recommend listening to Boghossian and Lindsay's interview on Joe Rogan's podcast. Not only is it fascinating, it's hysterical, too.

That makes sense to me, but for a lot of people (not in this sub, of course), letting anyone go, whether it means they're called guilty regardless of proof or not, it means there's still potential that someone might be a repeat offender. "Innocent until proven guilty" is a great concept, but not everyone agrees with it.

My dad was going in for some minor surgery, and as the nurse wheeled him into the operating room, he was just drifting off into an anesthesia haze. He called out to my mother "OFF TO THE ABATOIRE". Because in their minds, the police don't do enough, and if one guilty rapist gets through the legal system for lack of evidence, that's too many guilty people walking the street. It's an imbalance between the people who think that one innocent person wrongly accused is too many and the people who think that one guilty person who's wrongly acquitted is too many. Like the freedom/security balance, it's different for most people, and there's no one solution that will make everyone happy.

I don't remember telling anyone to speak up if they feel oppressed, but I do remember saying to do something about it if they are oppressed, and to help other people if they are being oppressed. Feeling oppressed doesn't necessarily mean shit. Everyone feels oppressed sometimes.

That sort of assumes that the pregnancy rate would stay the same. With the coming introduction to additional male birth control methods and an increased access to safe, regulated abortions, the birth rate could drop, and with it, the number of single-parent households. It wouldn't make sense that one changing factor wouldn't also change other factors. This isn't a one-patch problem.

Do you seriously believe that just because the GOP picked up one men's rights issue to ram a supreme court nominee through the confirmation process that it means they're suddenly pro-men's rights across the board?
