Gyms While there's no rule stating that you 'can't' meet women in a gym with the possibility of starting a romantic relationship down the line, that shouldn't be your main purpose there. Your best approach would be to have fun and make yourself approachable for women instead of the other way around

I still think it's a 50-50 between being actually serious and just being fun, so answer something that's funny and true and don't worry too much about it

The second part got me curious, what's the difference between her 'flirting' and her only doing it in a joking way? I once read a girl saying if she's already laughing and engaging then she's already interested. Of course, what works for one girl might not work for another but it'll be helpful to know some key basic differences.

My definition of 'game' is what I've learned from YouTube channels, and it's basically challenging the woman in a playful way in order to make your interactions more interesting, like a verbal 'game' of ping-pong. Although I still struggle to know what exactly counts as flirting, or whether teasing and flirting are the same thing.

I didn't really care for attention and was happy to workout in peace at a corner, but I have made friends there and am feeling my confidence rising with each day, which may be the reason she started interacting more with me. All this is good although that brings me back to square one - learning to differenciate between friendly and flirty attention. I guess I need to pay more attention to her to get a clearer picture. Thanks for the advice :)

I haven't encountered any 'obvious' flirtatious signs like touching her neck, or hair, or drawing attention to her lips, compliments etc, just those that can be passed off as friendliness. This may seem laughable but there really is no way to distinguish between flirting and friendly teasing otherwise, which is why I decided to make a post here to get a clearer perspective. You may be right that she probably doesn't even see me that way, but at this point I can't bring myself to risk it all sinc…

haha yeah, by 'that' guy I meant someone with limited social experience who mistakes any possible friendly female attention for interest. I give her her space and don't start with the teasing on the days I feel she isn't in the mood. The thing I'm mostly worried about is that I'm rather self-conscious of my looks as some childhood incidents have left scars on my face, and I don't want to risk any awkwardness since we'll have to encounter each other often. Still, thanks for the advice, I apprecia…

Maybe I should've provided more details. During those months our timings were different, she was usually leaving by the time I was entering. I was avoiding her altogether because I was rather nervous of an unfamiliar environment and people, but introduced myself anyway after she asked for my help with something. I had to change my timings because of some personal stuff and thus we encountered each other more frequently. I still avoided her because a lot of female gym goers here on reddit advise …

I've read all your advice comments here and yeah, I do agree that many women don't want to come off as being too forward. The thing I'm concerned about is the signals you mentioned. Except for laughing and smiling, I haven't seen/felt any touching, playing with hair or mouth, exposing the neck or trying to draw attention to it, etc. The only things I have to go about it is laughing and smiling, and frequently bringing up specific things we usually say or do to tease each other (which are somewha…

Yeah, I don't want to risk being that guy at the gym so I'm waiting to make sure if there's enough mutual attraction.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
