UK's prisons also have different rules re uniforms based on gender, although like the article says it's harder to argue because 'it varies from prison to prison' with different organisers. Female prisoners do not have to wear prison uniforms until they are on level 3 or 4 security. For male prisoners the uniform is enforced at all levels.
