Why do we need to compare tho? Cuz here in india we have actual ministers who shame women for wearing ripped jeans. RIPPED JEANS MAN! Both of those are bad and both need to be combated. Even if alimony isn't treated as a punishment. The person who is jailed needs to be compensated. This guy can't exactly go to school back at this age. Learn stuff and start living the life he wanted. He gave away 20 years of his life on a false accusation. How many more have given even more. There need to be punishments and compensation for this.
