And yet they have done fairly lengthy scholarly studies on the difference in sexual function. I assure you, it is considerable. You can go and ask in the intactivisim redit for links to scientific studies, should you want to read them.

Lies still took your father from you while you were growing up. That you eventually saw through it is a very small comfort for us fathers who see ourselves being robbed of our daughter's childhood. Your relationship with your dad will never, ever recover from the deliberate damage your mother did to it.

So, no consiquenses for her having his baby by deception, and your solution is that he never have sex. This "it takes two to tango" shit is victem blaming bullshit. Yes men have sex. Yes they should be fully aware of the possibility of fatherhood and the responsibility it will entail. This does not change that all of the power with regard to reproduction, is with women, and that should they obtain viable sperm any choice from then on belongs to her. To say that men bring this on themselves for t…

You are right. He was so very wrong to have trusted his sexual partner within a serious, monogmous relationship. He deserves to pay and pay and pay.

I gather OP is an Australian, given his link to the counciling service. Australa won't extradite over child support. They don't really care, either. Child support is assessed at a percentage of incom, reduced for time spent with the kid. Overseas income doesn't count.

You are absolutly right. My mistake was to trust my partner. You are utterly correct to say that trust has no place in contraception decisions.

I guess the alternitives are holidng her hand while she gets deopot vera shots every 3 months or an implanon implant, assuming she can use those. You have to watch the doctor give her the shot though. I would take the reversible-by-injection, no-cut vasectomy in a hot second, were it available to me. It sucks, mate. The big mistake I made previously was to trust the girl. I don't see any way around it other than taking control of your own reproduction (which is rubbers or the snip) or just trust…

Are you an Aussie mate? I have been through exactly this, but with a couple extra complicatoins. Your options are basically Cut and Run or Stay and Fight. If you are going to cut and run, do it soon. Don't come back. This is huge, leaving behind your friends and family basically forever. I thought about it, but I decided that there was no way I could do it. If you are going to stand and fight, go and get legal advice. Establish a pattern of consistantly trying to have contact and get access visi…

The reversal rate is about 70% or something. Even if the reversal fails sperm can still be extracted for use in IVF. IVF is very expensive though, expect to pay thousands of dollars per round for IVF and it could take eight or nine rounds. There is a much better reversable vasectomy in testing which is an injection into the vasdeferens (sp?) and can be reversed with another injection. It is years away though. Either get cut or use condoms. Condoms break every now and again so use condoms with a …

We try to please them by doing (or allowing) things like this and in return we get loads of blowjobs, steak and they allow us our "men things" that they do not understand. As long as you allow the view that men are violent cretins who can't restrain themselves from raping people. Rape sucks but allowing hysteria to be validated damages all men.

Women get to choose if to carry a child to term. Women get to choose weither or not to give a child up for adoption. All of these are socially acceptable and have support groups within the community. How would you propose that equity be reached for men in this issue?

Are you being obtuse? You have missed the point I have made. I'll try again, this time using smaller words. The Custodial parent has a budget of $500 for a week. This must cover all their expenses. Rent, food, utilities, clothes, entertainment all must come from this amoung. With me so far? The Custodial parent is presented with a magic debit card that allows money to only be spent on direct expenses for the child. This week there is $150 on the card. Every dollar on the magic card increases the…

The situation you describe is the last in a chain of events in a bitterly fought conflict. It would be just as valid to surmise that mothers drive fathers away so as to gain complete, uncompramising control of their childrens' lives while still enjoying financial support of the father. Your logic is flawed and your are still without credible citation. The fact is that women have considerably more power within the relationship and through enforcement of the legal system are able to force the cont…

This is a common misconception. It is impossible to restrict the way child support payments are spent. It can not be done. If $100 of the child support payment is spent on food for the child, then that is $100 of the Custodial Parent's own money they can spend on anything they like, say booze. All the money goes into the same bucket. The only way to stop the money funding the Custodial Parent's lifestyle is to be able to withhold it.

The opposite of what? Which is it? 0% custody gets 0% support? Or parents are not every allowed to say no to funding the lifestyle of the Custodial Parent. Make up your mind.

willfully walk out of their children's lives were the ones who had to pay support, then that would be fantastic. So, you are advocating daring the Custodial parent to make the Non-Custodial parent walk away? I live in Australia, the situation is exactly as you describe. In my experience, about half the time the Custodial Parent is hideously awful to ensure the personal cost for the non-custodial parent is just too high to endure. I would be thrilled to reverse the financial incentive. I'd pay mo…

Deadbeat parents who do cut and run are the problem. Except that any law that does this will give a financial incentive for the Custodial Parent to minimize the contact of the other. If you base child support on involvement, what is to stop one parent from making the other's life hell every time they show their face? To say it can't or won't happen shows utter naivety. Parents should not be allowed to bail on their finnacial obligations to their child. So regardless of the actions of the Custodi…

You say "accountability" but what you mean is submission. I want a say in my daughter's life. I want to be able to form a strong relationship with her. I want to be a father. The mother of my daughter has never compromised, ever. The only access I get is that which was ordered by the courts, and that is only given grudgingly. And why should she play nice? She gets more money the less I have to do with my girl. I absolutely want to be involved in my girl's life, and I am happy to pay for the priv…

Do you want to know what the mother of my daughter spends her state enforced child-support on? A Delux cable TV package that she uses to baby-sit my girl. A Wii so she can dump our daughter in front of it and play with Facebook or the Sims. More food to feed her binge-eating addiction, her iPhone. Shutting women out of the MRM is madness! Women make up half of our society, half the votes and half of most relationships. The only reason that Feminism gathered such political clout is because feminists converted men in droves. Most women do not understand the issues of the MRM, they are ignorant to the vicious hate that underlies most of what mainstream feminist purport to be the core of their political values. There are splinters within the feminist movement that reject this spiteful manipul…

The only response to the truthyness of feminist bullshit is to respond with reason. Quote peer reviewed scholarly articles. Cite analysis of widely respected studies. Review actual law texts. Place anecdotes in the context of wider community experiences and studies. I have had arguments with feminist who refuse to look at even one study or scholarly article, because I've "cherry picked" them. Nor would they do any reading on the subject. The truth of the feminist experience is self evident. Whil…

Best of all Step 3.1 in checking your privilege is "learn to listen rather than speak". So, if you are identified as having privilege and told to check it, then you have to shut up because they are not listening to you. Never mind that women are not a minority, and that the gender has considerable privilege of its own. Being a white, heterosexual male is the most privileged class of all, and thus the most needing to learn to shut up and listen. What a fabulous ad hominium attack. "I don't have t…

There's no rules stating someone can't open a men's only gym or hotel, There sure is in my country. Except that exemptions to the discrimination act get passed all the time. One example for my state is that they refused a father access to a law clinic being held on custody laws. A ten year court battle later, the highest court in the land has judged him to be utterly correct in calling illegal discrimination. The result? The law in my state has been changed. There are now government funded women…

I think it is presumptuous to tell her what she thinks. I also point out that that there will be no meaningful victory against misandry unless we convince women to help us end it. Do not abuse someone who would fight for us.

I bring it up because it strongly ties together cause and effect. Manipulating public opinion directly results in funding. Perhaps it is just that I can't bear to share a label with the political movement that is actively campaigning against me ever having partial custody of my daughter. If they are feminists and I am utterly opposed to their goals, methods and values, then what am I? You can fight to "take back" the movement from the loud few, but I suspect that particular PR battle was lost a …

For what it is worth, I agree. The success of the mens' rights movement utterly depends on recruiting women to our cause by showing them that a) Actual Scientific Facts are with us, and b)that they lose very little and gain a lot by helping to end this misandry bullshit. I used to be a feminsit, my mother and my sister are feminists, and now after a horribly scarring experience I'm not anymore. I do, however, still beleive in equity. Not impossible for a woman, but I find it increasingly unlikely that you'd support any of these causes. Why are you so surprised that men, especially men who have personally suffered at the hands of feminist political movement driven social injustice, are angry? For example, how do you think it would feel to discover that the child that you had been raising for many years was not your own, only to have the courts rule that you must pay child support anyway, even after the breakdown of the relati…

In Australia putting someone in genuine fear for their safety can be construed as assault. So, for example, credible death threats over the phone fall under assault. I suspect that the laws in the UK are similar. I postulate that shouting at someone can be assault, but only if they are genuinely afraid for their physical safety as a result.

Sir, regardless of your vitriol, the fact remains that law breakers of all kinds will be put into prison. It is fine to say that law breakers serving custodial sentences should forfeit their parental rights, however the fact remains that men of all kinds will be in prison. How do you propose to limit this removal of the rights of fatherhood to only violent offenders?
/r/MensRights20/06/10 09:09 AM
2

The thing is, mate, that you don't get to pick and chose which prisoners to dehumanize. If you want rough treatment and social consequence for prisoners (like taking away fathers' day privileges), then that applies to all inmates serving custodial sentences. Those in for tax fraud, or drug possession or refusing to pay unjust child support as well as rapists and murderers. In other countries prison can be for rehabilitation instead of punishment and they have different results. If you are intere…

Hey champ. Know what percentage of the prison population is in jail for drug charges? Roughly 25%. That is about six million Americans. Criminal is defined by what is against the law. As long as it is illegal to possess and smoke pot, there will be people in prison for it.

Not Alimony. Child support payments While child support and contact are separate issues, in some jurisdictions, the latter may influence the former. In the United Kingdom, for example, the amount of support ordered may be reduced based on the number of nights per week the child regularly spends at the non-custodial parent's home. EG: The less that a father sees their child, the more money the mother will receive. How do you feel that this is balanced against the obligation of both parents to car…

So, sole custody until breastfeeding stops, then 50-50. How long does breastfeeding continue? Six months? A year? Two years? Does the mother get paid a fraction of the father's income until then? Do you propose that she receive financial incentive to keep father and child apart?
/r/MensRights27/05/10 04:22 AM
1

There are millions of women every year that can't or don't breastfeed. Their children turn out just fine. If the mother is concerned, then she can supply expressed milk, as well as feeding during her visits. So, I see that you agree that women should have residential custody of infants in every case, and that the father should earn back some kind of partial custody at a later date? When should this be? When his child is Five? Nine? Seventeen? Why are women inherently better parents than men? You…

Are you serious? Really? It has never, in my experience, been questioned that the mother of a newborn get custody by default. Can you imagine a single scenario in which a woman "accidentally" gets pregnant, and the baby goes home from the hospital with the father? I've heard some very intelligent people tell me that mothers love their babies more, and that babies need their mothers, and the clear implication is at the expense of the father-child relationship. Women chose when to get pregnant, if…

You are deluding yourself if you truly beleive that we live in a world of equals. Feminisim and the Sexual Revoution have just about removed any incentive for men to marry. 50% of the time she'll take the kids, the house and get a slice of his income until children reach majority. This doesn't include men that are bitterly unhappy but stay in the marrage for the children or to escape the financial penalties. I think there are enough injustices to get upset about without inventing any, but I'm not going to spend an hour digesting a legal document so you can score cheap points. a55hole, I'm having a hard time understanding your point. Perhaps you are being less than clear. Your first link is to a many page PDF.
