There is no such thing as a "scumbag" way. You are being completely subjective and unable to look at things objectionably. You comparing what Walt does to abusive parents just proves that and takes away all of your credibility. Walt for most of the time in the show does what he does for self preservation, is doing what you need to do to survive a "scumbag" move? Not true, some juveniles get life in prison without the possibility parole, there's a whole document about it on Netflix. In one case the kid killed his abusive mother and step father after everyone in his town failed to help him including police. Just last week a brother and sister who killed their father's abusive girlfriend when they were 12 and 13 respectively got out after serving close to 20 years or something in Florida. Some mentally challenged people have been executed.
