My program is in a highly female dominated field. Essentially, males are highly valued due to the lack of diversity, especially how in this field we work with a lot of men. Therefore, my program makes the extra effort to invite men for interviews and even providing incentives to hire them due to the need of men in this profession. However, I believe my point still stands on how we foster productive dialogue and work with those who may have differing views. If we, as people who believe in looking at the issues of men, want to bring up to light the struggles men face, we want to be able to talk about it and make arguments stronger through discussion. 3	I'm pretty much done with this. Sorry to hear that you were basically harassed out of feminism. Sometimes, people can get shortsighted at what advocates of gender rights should be doing: to bring equality and equity to all. It is easy to just be self-interested. I think this quote from a famous feminist, named Lorde, really incorporates what gender activists should think about, paraphrased: A master's house cannot be taken down by the master's tools. 1	Women are allowed to objectify men because... Misogyny I think the key difference in how people see what is an ~ism is how one defines ~ism. Some people define it as a power structure (e.g., society is set up in a way that benefits a certain group and not the other. Example commonly used is the gender wage gap), which this person does. This means that because one group benefits, being a part of that group means you are automatically a ~ist (sexist, racist, etc.). 49	Feminist lives as a Man for 18 months to try to prove "Male Privilege". Learns Women are more Privileged than Men. Yeah, it's like men and women (and those in between) have to live up to these gendered expectations or norms set by society, but are then oppressed by those same norms.
