Omg I know and that was definitely a red flag for me when I was dating. If a guy said "hey I can't see you cause I have my kids this weekend " he went up in my book. And I get what you're saying about having a new stepmom every few weeks. I grew up with my mom having a endless succession of boyfriends so I knew how that felt and I didn't want it for my kids so I kept all that separate. Introducing kids too early was always a huge red flag cause it made me question their motives for dating me

Not assuming anything about your dating life. But the instant stepmom duty is real. I've dated a couple of guys who would tell me they couldn't see me when they had their kids cause it was supposed to be just for them with their kids and I totally respected that. But then there were other guys who would schedule dates with me on those weekends and they would make me the instant stepmom. And I would always be like this is way premature in the relationship. And even worse was when they would sugge…

Oh this is absolutely true. Most single fathers have multiple women stepping in to help them while it's much more rare for single mothers to have men stepping in. Maybe a brother or uncle or grandfather occasionally but not near as much. Another thing that I've definitely observed and experienced is that as a single mother dating being pressed into "mommy duty" when a man has his kids with him. Has this been your experience too?
