I see your point, but consider the following; if a woman is considering a man for a relationship she is weighing the possibility of committing to him and closing herself off to all other options. If she sees Mr. "Boyfriend Material" as so high value that he's worth sacrificing her options, she might assume he is already sleeping with other women. She could become just another girl in his rotation, or she could stoke his desire to encourage him to make the same sacrifice and commit to her in turn…

Sounds like the solution is vet your female partner for honesty, and trust that they will communicate their wants and needs make the necessary efforts to satisfy their needs when brought up If she cheats rather than communicating to help the relationship, she ain't the one. If you (the male) can't step your game up to scratch those itches, you ain't the one.

So there are equal amounts of crap men and women, not more of one than the other is what you are saying?

This seems a bit subjective. Can you elaborate on how you quantify a good man, a good woman, a crap man, and a crap woman?

I stand corrected, I see the US average stands at 2.5 years difference. In any case, in 64% of heterosexual marriages the male partner is older so the point remains. The information regarding reproductive viability of men vs women at 40+ remains true. My statistic was wrong but the claim is correct with pregnancies in women 35 and older as geriatric.

I think the difference in the data likely stems from differences in heteronormative dating behavior. If a woman is not actively dating she can still be approached by suitors in any public setting, as men present and women choose. Perhaps the women surveyed would be open to a potential mate who pursued them but simply aren't "in the game" so to speak. It may not necessarily mean they have no intentions of ever dating or being in a relationship again. Conversely, if a man is not actively dating th…

That's the point mate, there is no collective identity of "we" here. People on this board are unified in our desire to hopefully become fully-realized versions of ourselves, whatever the hell that is to you. If this doesn't speak to you, that's you. Won't be the last time I come off cringe to someone, so it goes. Edit: Spelling

Inverse. Weakness can be a sign of trauma. Perceived weaknesses like mental/behavioral/personality/attachment disorders and complexes can develop in response to traumatic experiences.

Realizing it doesn’t matter was a huge liberation. I used to go out to get laid; fail and be miserable, or succeed and be left with a drunk woman in my bed at 3 am. Yet again, miserable.

I enjoy this perspective quite a bit and think that ego is certainly my biggest obstacle in this journey. Are you romantically involved with the “select few” you are close with?

Do you believe it’s possible to have someone beside you for the content of your character, not out of hypergamous benefits? By establishing boundaries in relationships you can achieve true fidelity?

As with all matters of statutory rape, it’s not about the victim’s desire to be involved. Even if in the inverse a 14 y/o female believes she wants relations with an adult, she is cognitively undeveloped and a child. That’s the fuckin point.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
