I’ve had one partner that I’ve tried other condoms with and she wasn’t a fan of any of the gimmicks either and still never wanted me to wear one. We were in a monogamous relationship at the time so sometimes I relented, but it was hard to do it when she was always very clearly against it and it was only me viewing it as a priority. I don’t think it’s just because they think I would like it more, because I was clearly uncomfortable going without them much of the time. If you’re willing to make so…

I’ve done PIV with a total of 8 women. Of those, 7 actively tried to talk me out of using a condom almost every time. 1 of those 7 was even a virgin and had never watched porn. All 8 said it doesn’t feel as good or as intimate or something to that effect. This isn’t men convincing women sex with a condom sucks, or at least that’s never been my experience. Personally, I don’t like condoms, but I prefer them over getting someone I’m not with pregnant or contracting STI’s. Still it’s always been a …

Fair enough. I don’t want to invalidate anyone else’s struggles/experiences. I have shorter friends who have always been successful, but I’m sure it’s like anything else that’s viewed as a deficiency where you have to make up for it in other areas. It’s not fair though, sorry it’s been a tough go for you.

I could try to search for a study that confirms my experience, but I’m really just basing my belief on the advice of the advice of my family/divorce lawyers who have decades of combined experience with these cases. If there was a study that took into account custody preferences compared to custody outcomes I’d rely heavily n that info, but my lawyers didn’t provide that and your article didn’t contain that information either, so I’m my logic is to trust experts in the absence of reliable, compre…

Agreed! It’s not particularly romantic and mostly benefits the higher income partner though, so the cynical part of me believes it’s unlikely to change anytime soon.

The actual statistic you’re citing in the article is from a study done 35 years ago that showed men winning custody disputes “over 70%” of the time. Even assuming nothing changed societally between 1990 and 2025, that is still not disproving what I was saying. I was advised by 3 different lawyers to not fight for legal custody because there was almost no chance I’d win. The reason there seems to be a discrepancy could be that men only fight for custody when there’s a chance they could win. If my…

I am 6 ft tall and my mom says I’m handsome and my experience is very much anecdotal. But based on that, I just think the number one thing men can do to improve their odds of success, is work on communication and social/emotional intelligence. Unlike women, men have to be able to actually develop better personalities to find casual sexual partners. Even the good looking guys that are most successful tend to have some ability to come off as authentic and genuine. I’ve read some of my fwb’s messag…

I am not peak physically, pretty poor, my social network is basically nonexistent, and I don’t do drugs. Yet I’ve still been able to find plenty of success with women when actively dating (like a couple hookups a week with the option of making some of them regular and kept it up for several months until I moved and got a girlfriend). I guess I could be just lucky, but that seems lazy and also ignoring a pattern. I’m bisexual, so I’ve also briefly tried OLD with men and I have to say, the biggest…

Women have extremely favorable divorce rulings statistically (and in any other legal decision for that matter). In fact, that is a big reason why women generally keep the kids. I would have loved to have my kids a majority of the time and I think there are a lot of dads out there like me who don’t see having your kids as a disadvantage. Unfortunately for me, my wife was a stay-at-home mom while we were married and being the primary caregiver to your children and just being a woman/mother, gives …

I’m a white man who is the decedent of fairly recent immigrant none of my ancestors participated in the American slave trade as far as I know and some fought for the union. That doesn’t mean there weren’t racists or segregationists in my family tree. Regardless, I think guilt is the wrong response and shouldn’t be expected from those who were born into certain racists systems that they did not establish. When it comes to women’s rights, everyone (men & women) is a descendent of men who participa…

I don’t disagree with your point about the oppressed not owing oppressors thanks for liberation, but I think this also needs to go both ways. The people that emancipated slaves were not the ones who created the institution of slavery, the men who passed women’s suffrage were not the ones who instituted a ban on women voting. It’s seems a bit like blaming the descendants of oppressors for the actions of their ancestors while withholding any credit for overturning or diverting from those oppressiv…
