I haven't watched the video yet, but I'm guessing it's the birthday party where he pushed the children out of the way to save himself? Seinfeld has so many good moments of "truth".

I watched The Silence of the Lambs in my early twenties and ever since then I never help "disabled" men. Call me heartless, but you never know. Helping an old lady cross the street? Sure. Helping a "blind" man? Nope. I stay away. Better safe than sorry. Oh and I always stay away from vans. If someone is moving home and there's an open van with men about, I cross to the other side or turn around and walk away.

My my, look at all the awards he got. Round of applause for the poor guy who got his feelings hurt for being compared to a paedophile. I'm sure he believes he's a victim of misandry, even though he's not afraid to leave the house because a crazy woman might shoot him, rape him or beat him to a pulp...

I literally just finished watching Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, and he plays a kind and generous doctor and I fell in love 😍 I had no idea he was hiding a hot body under his lab coat!

Yeah, and her spaghetti ankles would never sustain those wide hips. I guess artistic freedom can ignore basic human anatomy.

My first boyfriend said I was a 7 who dressed like a 3. If I dressed "better" I could totally look like a 9. By dressing better, he meant showing my cleavage and legs like the porn stars he so adored. Why did I waste my time with such trash? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Huh... I thought it was because "vinte e quatro" (24) is pronounced similarly to "vim de quatro", something like "I came on all fours" and that's why there was a gay connotation. Also, it's funny that 24 is only considered a gay number in Brazil. Portugal doesn't make that association and the word for deer is not a gay slur.

Always! My grandfather was over 190 cm and my grandmother is 160 cm. Their height different was no excuse. He would always walk with her arm around his, to make sure she had support but also to slow down his pace to match hers. This is what gentlemen used to do in the past, and it's something I want my partners to do as well.

And if you think pornography (as we know it today) has only been around for like twenty years or so... before adsl no one had access to loads of porn videos, not to mention the hardcore stuff. A very depraved man might have some VHS and lots of Playboy magazines in his house, but it was not considered a normal thing.

Never expected to see a post about Amberlynn Reid here... I used to watch her a few years ago for the train wreck. It was amusing watching her new diet videos and bet how long she would last. I'm not proud, but she really was a terrible person and I think Becky deserved better. Nikokado however, I found him insufferable. I think I watched two or three of his mukbang videos and it was enough. I couldn't stand his fake tears, man boobs and disrespect for everyone else. I get it, it was his "person…

Same here. When I was on Tinder two years ago, I used to swipe left any bloke with a drink in his hand. Or even just hanging out in a pub. I'm not comfortable with people who like to drink until they forget. And it's such a common thing here in England, like people can't have fun anymore unless they're getting drunk.

Ok, I know you didn't ask for recommendations, but the only "romance" novel I actually enjoyed was "The Battle Sylph" by L.J. McDonald. It's actually more fantasy than romance, but it's about a young woman who ends up "owning" a super strong spirit (a Sylph) who is basically a slave to all her needs and treats her like a Queen. Sylphs behave like bees, when they find a Queen they form a hive and live to serve and protect her at all costs. If you end up reading other romance novels that are align…

This just reminded me of my first pyjamas party at my friend's place. There were only three other girls, we were all in our early twenties and it was too warm to wear actual pyjamas so we were all in shorts. I was embarrassed because I hadn't shaved in a few weeks, my leg hair would be noticeable. I remember actually apologising, and expected some comments like "you're letting yourself go" or "you're being lazy". Nah, girls couldn't care less. One of them actually laughed and said "don't be sill…

It makes me sad to read stories like these. At the same time, I am glad I didn't give in to the wishes of my family and married too soon. Chances are they would still view me as an accessory to the man, not someone who put aside her dreams to make babies.

I think it boils down to the women in your life. My mother, grandmothers and even some aunts always talked about my future marriage as my greatest achievement. Getting into uni was only viewed as a way to find a husband with better education. It didn't matter if I studied Medicine or History (not to bash a History degree, but in my country it was viewed as a guaranteed way to unemployment), because my career would be over as soon as I got married and had children. Now that I'm in my early thirti…

Oh, I was just about to ask my best friend what kind of games she's playing at the moment. Do you recommend Skyrim for a newbie gamer? I'm more used to platform and puzzle games, or very simple RPGs such as Pokemon.

It is sad, but take my experience with a grain of salt. I've never been with a man pre FDS, so I never vetted them enough to make sure they cared for my pleasure before having sex with them. Lesson learned.

I watched this film in theatres during my prime pick-me days and it left me feeling really uncomfortable. I couldn't put my finger on what was "wrong" with it, maybe it was just me empathising with the bad girl. I need to watch it again post FDS to actually appreciate the character.

Fellow stoic wannabe here! It's been quite a journey since I read Meditations. I currently keep a diary where I try to write what happened during the day that upset me, analyse why it upset me, note down how I reacted and how I should've reacted, etc. It's helping me control my emotions.

I watched the documentary with my mum a week ago. Not even 10 minutes in I told her "he's lying, she didn't run away, he did something to her". My mum believed his sob story until he confessed... we weren't familiar with the case. So unfair that some people thought she had it coming.

I also broke up in June 2020, just before I found FDS. I'm saving this post to remind myself that other people's expectations do not reflect my own experience. I have never been in a relationship with a man that contributed to my happiness. Better off alone.

Shirtless gym pictures. Even if they do have muscle definition, that screams vanity and hook up culture to me. Edit to add: drinking pictures, either at pubs or clubs. So your idea of fun is getting drunk every weekend? Pass.

Similar story. During the first UK lockdown last year my closest shop ran out of tampons. Asked my boyfriend if he could check his corner shop, described exactly the package, brand, size, etc... "Sure, I'll check next time." He forgot the first time. Apologised. I said "that's fine, I still have some, but I'll run out soon, could you go back tomorrow and buy some if they have them?". I didn't mention it again, waited to see if he actually remembered. He didn't, and a week later he said "oh, sorr…

Ever watched Hana Kimi? It was a dorama, not sure if it had an anime adaptation, cute reverse harem with hilarious moments.

I remember back in 2006 when Ouran High School Host Club was released: a reverse harem making fun of all the shoujo tropes in anime. And a main female character that actually had character and wasn't just an air head with big breasts. Actually made me laugh at the ridiculousness of the harem genre. Oh yeah, the creator was a woman. The only harem series that I enjoyed was Air, because it had beautiful animation, soundtrack, and it was more about the tragedy rather than romance between characters…

I remember watching a video of an experiment, a mother interacting with her baby (about 1 year old, I think). It was about how the mother's facial expressions had an impact on the child. So in the beginning, the mother is smiling and clapping and the child is happy and clapping as well. Then the mother stops smiling and interacting. She's not mad, she's not even frowning, but she's ignoring the child, just staring blankly. The effect is near immediate. The child starts clapping again and babblin…

Thank you! I hope you get your list as detailed as possible. I read somewhere that it's easier to achieve your goals if you don't keep them vague. For example "I'm going to lose 2 kg in one month", instead of "I'm going to lose some weight". Give yourself a goal and a timeline, if you can. Best of luck!

Sure! I recently quit my job due to stress. I was a key worker, in the pharmaceutical industry, working odd hours and long shifts, living far away from my family and not able to visit due to the pandemic. I know a lot of people had it worse than me, but 2020 took its toll on my mental health. So my first step will be finding a job closer to home, that allows me to have a more balanced schedule. I will also work on managing my stress. I am going to invest some money. I was saving for a deposit fo…

I thought this was sick when I read the title. Then I read that she's 6 months pregnant and I'm shocked. What kind of vermin thinks it's even remotely funny to pretend to push a pregnant woman down the stairs?? Absolutely no consideration for her safety, or for the baby's life...

Can I ask what this sub has against Jordan Peterson? I've watched all his lectures on Personality and Maps of Meaning and I've read his book, 12 Rules for Life. Never heard him say anything bad about women, and he often condemns incels and mgtows. I'm at work now, but I'll read any replies when I get home. Thanks in advance.

Adding him on Facebook. Talking about her bad experiences with men. A coffee and a walk in the woods, after breaking up with her boyfriend. I was just hoping she told all her friends where she was going and with whom... this could have ended badly for her. And even though he considers her "one in a million", the way he describes her looks sounds like he thinks she's way out of his league (she probably is) and he will grow resentful or distrustful of her... Just a few thoughts I had while reading…

Hmm... You could watch it with her and then talk to her about it, not in a very serious way because she's young. You could tell her that's not how things work anymore, the story is set a long time ago, when kings still ruled. I guess it depends on how you want to raise her. If I have children I don't want them to miss out on the good Disney films, no matter how outdated they are. The modern ones lost all magic to me.

One of my favourite Disney films is The Little Mermaid, because Ursula is a fantastic evil character. Now that I think about it, her song "Poor unfortunate souls" depicts men as brainless tools who only care about a woman's pretty face. My favourite film was Sleeping Beauty. Can you guess why? Maleficent was more beautiful to me than all Disney princesses combined. And she turns into a dragon! A truly powerful and terrifying woman... I wanted to be like her. It's curious that she laughed at the …
