What is a waste of time? Highly subjective in my opinion. Everything might seem like a waste of time if you put a lot of time in, and don't achieve this vision that you have implanted in your head. That is true, but im just speaking from my experience. I'm not the kind of guy who can chat a lot with girls, I prefer seeing the other persons face and optionally building some tension between the girl, which is also easier in person (for me at least).

Usually, you should avoid texting a girl for to long, as others have said, meeting face-to-face is way better. It also allows for things like touching and seeing the girls facial expressions and so on.
