And In Australia the A league (our top soccer league) has a salary cap for all but 2 or three plays (called marquee players, who can be paid as much as the club can afford to pay them)

Probably because they see women's lives as infinitely more important, the sort of thing along the lines of "if 100 men die but 1 woman is saved it's a good outcome"
