For the purposes of equality, the only way to rectify it is to either eliminate the draft or expand it to include women. Firstly, volunteer service is entirely different to that of mandatory coercion - which is what the draft is: an involuntary demand to die and kill for the state, which is specifically demanded of men. 36	if you are a disabled male that can't work, society thinks you are better off dead or homeless. Recently had a somewhat severe back injury from my job and have gone through similar feelings of shame and indignation, both externally and internally. 6	One in 11 men in the US will go to prison in their lifetimes I think that’s a fair point. Much of the exclusion and gender essentialist / misandrist rhetoric and thought that I was inundated with as a kid came specifically from other men and boys, though it took me quite a long while before I recognized how pervasive it was among women as well.
