DO you have any idea how I go about getting the ban lifted? I've messaged them twice through the contact link at the bottom of the page but they still haven't got back to me. I can't see why I would be shadow banned as my comments are fairly innocuous.

I think my comments have to be approved first. I've contacted the admins so hopefully this will be cleared up soon.

Thanks for telling me. Do you have any idea as what my ban is for? It's not like I'm preaching violence or anything :/

I think if you spoke to a lot of people in real life who seem extreme here, they would not come across in the same way. It's easy to leave a thoughtless, reactionary comment (god knows I do it all the time) on social media as there is nothing to loose. Besides, it can be cathartic to vent.
/r/MensRights01/07/13 09:38 AM

It wasn't an economist it was Marc Rudov. He doesn't speak on men's issues anymore and recently asked MGTOW forums' youtube channel to take something down as 'corporate America frowns upon' his past public appearances talking about this shit. I think it's unfair for you to say this. I have definitely become frustrated with some of the impulsive decisions Paul has made lately but his activism in the real world is a credit to him. To claim that he is a cancer on the MRM is, in my opinion, wholly incorrect.

Are the downvotes coming because feminism has co-opted the Gay Rights movement? Gay men face a hell of a lot of discrimination and, while I don't think MR should pander to the movement, shouldn't we recognise that gay men deserve equal access to marriage?

I've had terrible experiences with the NHS. My sister was born with a fairly mild form of cerebral palsy so the doctors carved her open as they said it would help her walk properly. It didn't and she now has massive scars. They also told my mother that she had pleurisy for two years, so that when they finally found out that it was lung cancer it was too late.

Yeah, that is a shame, especially since things seem to be taking off this year. I was searching for stuff on him a few months ago and a fairly high profile case kept cropping up, where a false accuser was attempting to smear him after he wrote about her. Ideally these things would be discussed before hand and a pregnancy would be a decision taken by both parties. The abdication of a father's responsibility is an idea I'm not really comfortable with but it's probably the fairest solution. Roll on the male birth control pill, I say.

LOL. I could well be wrong but it seems to me that you are a feminist who is shrugging off the label so that your arguments aren't discounted on that point alone. Which is fair enough. As for the 'false accusations' (has someone been reading the manboobz blog?), stating an opinion on what the intentions of an anonymous person on the internet may or may not be is not comparable with a false accusation of rape. I don't believe that she is spending political capital here. It looks to me that she has been told by whatever NGO(s?) that fund her party to speak out on a growing problem that will be gaining a lot of press in the future, that way she and her party can say that they have our best interests at heart when they canvass the disillusioned male vote. Notice that it's the growing misogyny and male sexuality that she's worried about? I think this is just a cynical ploy to gain votes in the future.

I was thinking the same thing. There was a similar article after the new year so I'm assuming that due to the financial rise of women and decline of men there is a real push to exploit a potential market. Another example here in Britain is a hotel advert that is not too subtlety aimed at professional women wishing to cheat on their hubbies.

I was looking for some info on the college gender gap the other day but was disappointed that only right wing blogs are talking about that fact that men are 25% less likely to graduate than women. The Huffpo, however, was full of articles decrying the STEM gap, where there are far more men than women taking such courses. I must say, that before I took an interest in men's issues I was your typical guardian reading Daily Show viewer. But now I am utterly disillusioned with the political framework…

I really enjoy listening to Stardusk's talks. He sounds utterly fed up in some of them but who can blame him considering that all his exes cheated on him and one put wire round his throat before attempting to carve off his fuckstick. The police weren't too helpful either, if I remember correctly.

There are no barriers to women entering politics. How can you say that the fact they choose other careers is discrimination? Also, women are the most powerful voting block. They vote in our politicians. I don't think that pandering is a productive way to run a society, I believe in equality of opportunity . Perhaps you disagree. That's your opinion.

Labour are even worse as they have women only short lists to counter the 'discrimination' women face in entering politics. The tories don't do this but they still need to pander to the female vote, so that's why you'll see David Cameron aping Bazza Obama in blaming fathers who have been removed from their children's lives for the break down of society.

That's exactly what I thought. I sent her a tweet pointing this out but she didn't see fit to respond. Btw, I wish someone would of challenged the head teacher when she said: "No, <name>, we need to, as educators, make sure that no gender is being overrepresented in any academic field.". I haven't heard of anyone giving boy pupils lectures on fields in which they are grossly under-represented.

Guys have been fed a bunch of garbage regarding what women are really attracted to, so what's wrong with them getting together and finding out what works? Women do all kinds of things to make themselves more appealing to the opposite sex, such as, makeup, pushup bra's, etc., why is it that when men work out what women like they are encouraging pandering, manipulation, objectification, and duplicity?

Who said that the majority of feminists think men are evil? Stop putting words in my mouth. The extremists are the ones running the show. They are the ones with influence. Feminist theory claims that men have conspired to subjugate women throughout history so even the "nice" feminists still come from a place that is bigoted and casts men as oppressors.
/r/MensRights09/12/12 11:12 PM
1

"Feminists fight for equal rights" Are you fucking kidding me? Ok, maybe SOME of the feminists who you converse with on the internet claim to to this, but the one's lobbying politicians and receiving money from the government to run adverts that demonise men, y'know, the one's who really count, certainly don't do this. At all.
/r/MensRights09/12/12 01:08 PM
6

So, now that feminism is being put under the spot light they think it's time to go under a new name and pay a bit more lip service to men's issues. Or perhaps I'm being overly cynical. I do think the whole of feminist theory needs to be thoroughly scrutinized and those who have subscribed to the mendacious and bigoted parts (all) of it have no place in the discussion as we move forward.
/r/MensRights09/12/12 12:54 PM
1

And I agree with this. The ridiculous domestic violence legislation and stupid adverts like "Never Hit a Girl" has caused a real animosity. We need to use our common sense instead of phoning Big Brother to adjudicate our petty squabbles.
/r/MensRights09/12/12 11:48 AM
1

I think that we take things like this far too seriously. If my girlfriend smacked my face, I would twist her arm behind her back, bend her over and then spank her bottom. That would teach her never to do it again. Of course, serious abuse must be reported but there is a worrying trend these days of getting the authorities involved in domestic disputes that we should, and can, resolve ourselves.

As men continue to turn their back on the oppressive institution of marriage we can expect more of these sorts of laws to be passed. Oh for fuck sake. If you start to fancy your students then all you have to do is quit the teaching profession. These "teachers" are moronic, and it seems like any idiot can be entrusted to educate the next generation of consumers these days.

Most people will engage in astounding mental gymnastics to excuse poor female behaviour. Feminists will often claim that the woman is a victim of an oppressive patriarchy, therefore, deserving of sympathy. If a male is the victim of this behaviour, and he is "lucky", they may throw him a "Weeeellllll, patriarchy hurts men too". This is unacceptable and in my opinion is why men are getting fed up.

This is nuts. Seeing these fanatics in all their close minded glory regurgitating feminist lies and half truths makes me wonder if they will ever cede ground to the MRM. The female who was calling the one guy fucking scum and a rape apologist pretty much sums up the aggressive, deluded hateful nature of the whole protest.

Women, in my experience, are all to happy to capitalise on the fact they are seen as weak and more often than not play up to it. They are also the most powerful voting block. They control the lion share of spending, which men go out and earn in order to be seen as having any value, and you want me to see women as oppressed? It seems to me that women care more about free abortions and contraceptives than equality under the law. They never protest that they are seen as weak when they are receiving…

TJ has sold out. Watch his video titled The Amazing Atheist Reset", in it he says he has become somewhat sympathetic to feminism (read: his girlfriend told him not to be against it anymore). He also has some other bullshit video that he made recently called "Man Talk", where he blathers on about how men are useless and women are great. It's sickening.

When I first discovered his blog and read through it I was horrified. There is one post which recounts how Joe Biden, after meeting and being given the facts on domestic violence committed against men, led the writer and other academics to believe that they would be invited to a meeting to draft policy. The blog writer thinks that this was done to keep them quiet on what would be an unpopular view during an election period. Joe Biden is a fucking scumbag.

Sure. It's what a lot of feminists use to let people know that they're going to be discussing a sensitive issue. Apparently some people need to be warned incase the topic triggers negative emotions. It's ridiculous.

You know what, fuck this! No, I would not rather be a woman. Sure they get treated much better than us and I know that's never gonna change. But I'll be fucked if I ever become so ashamed or brow beaten as to wish I was the other sex. In my experience, women get an easy ride from men. So they probably see members of the same sex as a threat. I read something similar in one of the social science journals a few months back and they claimed that women should not be blamed because... drum roll please patriarchy!

Yes, I remember thinking exactly the same thing when I read about this at A Voice For Men and it pissed me off as I'd just finished a series of TTC lectures on the Great War. Apparently the new, industrialised nature of the war made the soldiers feel like they were losing their humanity. Imagine being publicly humiliated by the (supposed) nurturing sex as you were trying to recover from shell shock.

I've noticed this as well. They say they're "scared" and other disingenuos stuff like that. For all their accussations of privilige, the expectation that others will pander to their feelings comes across as the most entitled worldview.

Well, it wasn't the most eloquent comment but I was pretty angry that the kid's teacher started dismissing him as sexist. That's disgraceful. It's not like those types of comments define this sub, though. There's a lot of good debate here, so maybe you're being overly sensitive? Awesome. Perhaps it could also entail him being accussed of domestic abuse and raping his children by his violent wife who wants to divorce him. And show how the courts side with her and he has to pay her and the man she left him for while his children call the other man dad.

I actually asked Manboobs what his problem was Warren Farrell and he responded thus: Because much of what he writes is complete bullshit; because he’s provided the MRM with some of its silliest talking points; because he’s said really, really skeevy things about rape and incest; because he’s dishonest? One of these days I’ll do some Warren Farrell posts.

The bigots denied it to the end. While I'm glad that they are even having such a debate, it is truly disheartening to see how unwilling women in power are to even acknowledge that men receive harsher treatment.
