You mean "Lack of originality"? If she had one song that was original, I might agree with you. Sadly, everything she's done was written by someone else, or more specifically, "co-written" with someone who can actually write a song. SMFH...

Me and my 8 year old daughter were hanging out a few weeks ago, and she told me how much she likes this new song by Ariana Grande called Goodnight and Go. I listened to it with her, and then I promptly put on the original version by Imogen Heap. A minute into the song my daughter says " I hate Ariana Grande now, she's just a copy cat. She sings the words but she didin't write it. Sad.". We high fived after that one. She's now an Imogen Heap fan and hates a lot of other copy cat "artists", too.

A motorcycle is like alcohol - it won't solve your problems, but when you're on it you sure don't give a fuck about much.

I did the same thing right after my divorce was finalized. 32GB RAM, Ryzen 2700X, 1080TI. It helps that I live 5 miles away from Microcenter. No regerts!

Mine stepped up, and then she stepped back once she started putting her friends before me and our daughter. She keeps telling me everything is fine after the divorce, but when you do the math she is hurting badly even with the minimal alimony I'm paying. Her only chance to make her situation better is to take responsibility for her own life and actions, which she'll probably never do. Good job on recognizing that, and getting out before it got too late.

I kept telling my ex this exact thing during the whole divorce process this past year. I'm expecting this call within a few months.

Honestly, I don't mind helping a friend move - it's what we should be doing for each other. Helping the same guy move 5 times, though, then I start asking questions.

Yes, the ass end is a bit light on the Tacos. However, it can plow through 3 feet of snow without a hiccup. The nice thing about the 4WD vs AWD is that in the 4WD, you can select the drivetrain configuration where the AWD is automatic. I like having a switch that allows me to go into 4 Low for shitty situations.

I put Hankook Dynapro AT-M's on my last two Tacomas (both Gen 2). Perfect tires for that truck for city driving and occasional offroading, unless you're doing rock crawling or something like that.

RESALE VALUE! That, and they're badass trucks. I traded in a 2015 Tacoma TRD Offroad for this one (this is my 3rd Tacoma). I paid $30K for the 2015 more than 3 years ago, and it had even gotten in a crash and repaired. The dealer gave me $25K for my trade in on Wednesday, and immediately listed it for $30,900, more than I paid for the damn thing in 2015. It'll probably be sold by the end of the weekend. The damn thing only lost $5K in value after 3 years, 40K miles, and being in a crash. You're …

This will be my third Taco, I traded in my 2015 TRD Off Road for this one. This has an Atkinson cycle 6-cylinder, which is weird since Atkinson engines favor efficiency over power and the Tacos aleays had great, powerful V-6's. We'll see how it does once it's broken in and see how hard it is to kill. This is just one more step in my post-divorce master plan; next goal is buying property in the mountains (hence the truck).

My ex thought this way. After I bought my previous house and spent a shit ton of money on a down payment and moving and stuff, the vacuum cleaner shit the bed. I told her she needed to help pay for a new one and she freaked out in the middle of Best Buy, saying that her money was "hers", that it would be a cold day in hell before she spent a dime on anything the family needed, and that is was my responsibility to spend my money on what she and the family "needed". I was making about $75k, and sh…

Yes, it's the pre-wired network inside the apartment. I went through the entire system and this is the best I could get it; even re-terminated in a few places. Running 1 GBPS on the network so I don't have to replace any of my hardware. Not complaining, though.

My Internet Speed_IRL There's not much I can't do with this machine; I built it to play DCS World and it runs flawlessly on max settings. It can play anything out there on Ultra settings (playing Fallout 4 and Skyrim is a completely different experience now). I've always been an AMD guy, though.

I moved into a new apartment complex a few months ago during the divorce, and fiber was already wired and ready to go. The ISP provided a low monthly price to get everyone signed up and pricing doesn't increase as long as I'm here. The connection is dedicated and rock solid but largely still dependent on the serving end and number of hops, so not everything is blazing fast. I'm paying $80/month for 1 GBPS internet, only $20 more a month than 300 MBPS, so I figured it was worth the extra $20 (my …

Wife of 10 years: "It's just a fucking computer, why won't you just save your money for my <anniversary/birthday/mother's day/Arbor Day/Tuesday> gift???" Me a week after the divorce decree was issued: GTX 1080TI, Ryzen7 2700x, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 1 GBps internet service. A project car is next on the list, after I buy a new house in a few months when my credit score recovers.

Yep - she just wanted money so I gave her some. She didn't think that she'd actually have to take responsibility for anything, though. Oh well.

Although there are guidelines to how much and for how long in my state, alimony is not mandated and can be waived, or the amount and term can be agreed upon by the parties. Child support is mandated and will be applied no matter if anyone thinks it's fair or not. The calculations for child support are based on each parent's income, the amount of time the child spends with each parent, and whether or not alimony is being paid. If you pay alimony, the child support amount decreases and vice-versa.…

Yep - my motorcycle and my truck were purchased in my name only, and her car was a lease in both of our names. Between the truck and the motorcycle I have about $10K in equity, and she just was just forced to commit to another 4-year lease with no benefit from the asset outside of being able to drive her car. So I keep my assets and their debts, she basically rents a car for the next 4 years.

I (personally) wrote into the settlement agreement that within 30 days of the decree she would have to either buy out the lease on her car or trade it in and purchase another car in her name only, and start paying for the car payment and her insurance and other liabilities immediately on issuance of the divorce decree. In short, take my name off the liability for her car in total. I followed up last week and told her that if this wasn't done on time (July 17th), I'd be filing contempt charges. S…

In general: 50/50 custody of my daughter Proceeds from the sale of the house pay off all marital credit cards, and pay off what it cost to close the family business. Remaining proceeds divided 50/50 (About $10k per party in the end) I take responsibility for my truck and my motorcycle, and she takes responsibility for her car Alimony at guideline amount but for reduced term (3 years vs 4 1/2 years). Child support per State guidelines (unavoidable). I keep possession of all of my investments acco…

CLARIFICATION - I do have a very good industrial sales job now, but I get a salary plus bonus instead of commissions. The settlement agreement says that she gets alimony for a reduced term at a fixed amount, so no matter how much I make, she can't ask for an increase in alimony. If I do make more money, child support will increase but I'm ok with that since we have shared custody. However, my investments and side work are protected - she has no rights to my investments per the settlement agreeme…

Get a good lawyer and understand the laws, document everything, and keep a cool head. Rely on logic and reason instead of emotion (easy for us guys) and you should end up ok. Stay the course no matter how long it takes. Good luck!

It turned out slightly in my favor - 50/50 custody of my daughter, she pays half the marital debt, and I get to keep my investments. I do pay alimony but the term was reduced form 4 1/2 to 3 years. The problems happened in the past; she stole tens of thousands of dollars form the marriage and transferred it overseas without my knowledge, lied to the courts, failed to comply with court orders, and was sanctioned by the judge. I made it clear that I was not going to get any nicer, and she agreed t…

HR is there to protect the interests of the company, not you, and they get paid well to do exactly that. The HR director is normally a partner or or officer, almost never an employee.
