My dad was 15 years older than my mom, they were together until she passed away over 35 years later

Which still isn't 100%. the question was why remarry. Of course it's ultimately their choice/risk but there is a non zero chance they could be happy. The only way to really know is to try. You miss every shot you don't take 🤷‍♂️

Similar boat as you. I'm choosing to leave most likely. I think we got married too fast too young and she had revealed she never wanted kids, only had them to "keep me" is inconsiderate of my feelings, has no friends, wants to control my interaction with her, no accountability. A very deeply unsettled self loathing person that had I not started asking questions she would continue to keep up a mask to keep her comfort. I truly do not know who she is and I'm constantly questioning my reality .

I don't mean to be mean but I think given how young you both are...growth might look like letting her go. Yes the fear of hurting her is real but right now it sounds like you are draining her. And there's no rule saying that you can't cross paths later after having lived more and grown as individuals. You can support each other as friends without the legal bind

Omg I feel like I could have written some of this. While I'm not separated or divorced and I too have my flaws I'm just so detached and really thinking about life and if this is sustainable. And all the toxic patterns and thinking and red flags I ignored. And been on top of that. I was kind of shammed when I brought up all of these things. And told "well you knew what you were getting into" I'm sorry I saw the potential of the relationship I guess? 🤷‍♂️ Her therapist even told her she is a self …

I often worry when she says things like "I know myself" but yet also says " I don't know what my identity is" ? And her family walks on eggshells all the time...she had a joint therapy with her mother to resolve some issues between them. (She cut her mom off from seeing her and the kids for 6 months). Her mom has been apologizing and saying she will try to mend the relationship and my wife's response was pretty much like " we'll see if your actions match that" I'm worried it's just going to put …

Yes! This was something I actually had a breakthrough with my therapist. I had told them that one of the things that stresses me out is a lack of accountability. My wife demands unconditional support even if she's in the wrong?????

My therapist is making sure to reiterate to me that they're not trying to push me in One direction, but they're trying to get me to understand that there are multiple angles my life could take. She's made it clear that she's not trying to get me to decide because that's only a decision I can make but that it doesn't hurt to explore all the angles

I have told her about all of this, we are both in therapy. We at least agree that if we did split we would be amicable and focus on the kids. We've talked about her trauma, my grief. How our relationship started, aspects of our relationship she withheld that really should have been important conversations prior to marriage. She also agrees there are issues in the relationship but assumed if I didn't point anything out there was no issue. I ignored things because I hoped it would get better over …

My dad was twice divorced at 40, met my mom and was with her until her death 36 years later.

Mine does this too, I honestly feel like it's some kind of control thing ...

I hear that and it's not even like I want to run off with someone else, I just want PEACE.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
