As a clear summary. The choice you made was correct morally, (if that matters to you), strategically, (your own life-strategy) and legally, (you have the defense that there was no sexual contact). You may, or may not be able to convert it to a win with the girl at some later time, but that matters little, the world is full of girls. Make a life rule: Do not put d**k in crazy or extremely drunk, or drugged up. This will protect you from no end of possible bad outcomes.

My maternal grandmother did not teach her daughter anything worth knowing. When my mother married my father, his family lived on a farm, and so my mom learned cooking from her MIL, in a wood stove kitchen (this was 1920s & 30s.) So my dad enjoyed mom's home cooking in his own home. If you get the chance, learn from your BF's mom, even just a few of his old favorites. Others have said youtube, thats pretty good, and maybe a cookbook for your bf's ethnic ancestry.
