Ex wife coming back to town and wants to grab lunch. Good idea or bad?For me, I'd definitely be asking what her motivation for lunch is. But I don't like surprises and would rather just have the intentions out in the open. Whether you go or not I think depends on where you are at mentally with her. If you've truly accepted the situation and the divorce and can use this lunch as a step forward to an amiable relationship with her so you can raise your kids, then go for it. But be honest with yourself. If it's just going to open up wounds and make the next 6 months… | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/04/19 12:38 PM
Ex wife coming back to town and wants to grab lunch. Good idea or bad? What isn't clear to me is where do you want this to go? Are you DONE, divorce is the reality? Do you see you guys working through issues and ending your separation? Are kids involved? If there are, I believe it's much more important to do whatever you can to try to work through the issues. With the limited amount of information you gave about your current place mentally, and hers.. it's really impossible to understand what the motive for the lunch could be. Have you both agreed on divorce? H… | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/04/19 05:20 PM
Seriously - what the hell was she thinking??I appreciate your guidance here.. I have spoken to two different lawyers so far, and both have said the same thing - the documentation I have is not going to help me in regards to child support or alimony, but it could play a role with custody if I choose to fight for it. (wife thinks we're going 50/50). Neither lawyer had any concerns about the legality of the data I have nor how I got it - I was VERY clear in how I am tracking her. To be perfectly clear here, I'm not looking to use this data i… | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/04/19 01:56 PM
Seriously - what the hell was she thinking??It's a really long and complicated story, to be honest. But no, it wasn't an idea that she pushed. We decided it together. She did take a guy we trusted and and turned it into the affair that it is now. The amazing thing is the absolute destruction she tried to inflict on me when she had him in her pocket.. she had this new power that she unbelievably recklessly tried to tear me down to nothing by saying she never loved me, never tried with me, didn't know what love was until this guy, etc. Unbe… | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/04/19 01:52 PM
Seriously - what the hell was she thinking??Money isn't everything, but I don't get it. I'm pretty sure they are conspiring to try to take me for as much as they possibly can. The sad part is he's going get to know the real her in a couple years and leave her in the dust. I'm focused on getting my 14yr old son who said last night that he wants to live with me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/04/19 02:47 PM
Seriously - what the hell was she thinking??I was waiting for her to finally get a job to get this divorce underway. It was unbelievable to me that she spent 2 years looking for a job in a field she hasn't been in for 10 years and was shocked she couldn't get hired. She HAD to have a marketing job, when she had been working in sales support for about 5 years. she finally relented and got another sales support job making 40k down from her previous job of about 60-70k.. likely to try to stick it to me. Meanwhile I got a 15k promotion rece… | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/04/19 02:43 PM
Seriously - what the hell was she thinking??Thanks for her concern.. I have disclosed the tracking with the lawyer I talked to. He wasn't concerned from a legal perspective. How? through her cell phone - we have family tracking that she thinks she defeated, but didn't. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/04/19 02:36 PM
