Ive always hated that sentiment. And the fact that it gets repeated endlessly like its Truth. Teaching someone they are right because of how they are born, is teaching someone to never learn, grow, adapt. Just be selfish, make everyone cater to you.

Agreed. Why is everyones first reaction to an inequality to immediately shift the inequality in the opposite direction? So much hate and hypocrisy seem to dominate any kind of cause. Lots of people screaming for special interest, so few actually seeking equality.

This is the attitude I find in most people when arguing about literally anything. People dont want to gain higher understanding. They just want to feel superior. Usually when someone repeats themsleves, it means they have nothing new to contribute. I dont know why they think it somehow proves their point.

Thats possible. But the people like this that i've met seem to have no interest in someone agreeing with them. They just want to fight, and tell people they are wrong. They create a kind of persecution complex, that makes them feel justified to attack, and they always get to feel like they are moral superior. Maybe its just easier to have a go to scapegoat for all their problems. Nothing is your fault when someone else is oppressing you.

Yea, group ad homenim. Character type attacks seem to be the go to move for most social justice groups. Probably because its easy to do, and difficult to refute. I guess also because many people arent interested in the facts of a matter. I hate that we seem to be becoming a post truth society.

You're probably right on the terms. But I feel like 90% of people arent going to care if something is "unhealthy". The USA's eating habits, drug use and smoking seem support this conclusion. Being kind, or decent simply isn't on most peoples checklist of who they want to be. Many people don't even see it as a requirement to be "a good person". "I can scream at retail employees because I support LGBT on facebook" can describe an unsettling number of people I encounter.

Oof. I was going to suggest "acceptable" or "correct" behavior. But it seems like treating others like garbage is largely accepted. And while I think basic decency is "correct" behavior, it seems like very few agree. I guess ill go with decency. Why cant people treat their kids, their friends and others, with basic decency. Sigh.

There was a post a while back about female teachers who had slept with underage boys, and how it affected them later. A few people told stories about it. I am still baffled by car insurgence laws. In my close group of friends, the 10 or so guys have all been in one, maybe 2 accidents.
