I’ve found the same, it’s bizarre and almost makes me superstitious. On a practical level I think it’s more so when you get opportunities they become part of your dating rotation which keeps you busy through periods where there aren’t as many new ones coming in.

I do wonder whether we do have it right in the west. There is definitely something primitively effective in physical threat by the tribe and repercussions that cause fear. But again depends on severity of the scenario, im sure it’s better to empower our woman to clearly and directly say “I don’t appreciate that, never do that again. You need to show me respect”. Most men that demands respect

Ahh yes, lots of this speaks to me and the way I used to be. I’m a big guy myself (boxing/gym) the type people clock when I walk into a room as a rugby player or something. And for most of my life, that was how I handled disrespect: show up, stand tall, and make it very clear I wasn’t the one to mess with and if they didn’t bow down and apologies I’d use physical means. But over time I’ve realised that kind of response comes from protection and ego, not partnership. I’ve been in situations where…

Thank you. Yeh, I’m trying to adopt a more trusting philosophy. It was easier at the start, but it’s hard watching your partner have to figure things out on their own. I’ve been reminded that’s still the best way for them to grow and find their voice. If I step in too much or judge how I think she should handle it, it ends up taking her power instead of supporting it. It’s like she loses autonomy at work from one man crossing a line, and then I risk eroding that same autonomy at home by trying t…

Dude common, take it on the chin. I know it’s shit to swallow your ego but it was a silly situation and you were in the wrong and she checked you. You correct it, continue to lead and move past it. You’ve held onto a tiny scenario where she was right about a trivial thing and punishing her. That’s not masculine. Just let it out and move on. Set up the next date and show up as you were before getting told off for doing a silly thing lol. I mean was she super disrespectful in a way you didn’t desc…

Yep I’ve had this happen to me. Similar type of deal. I’m quite experienced dater and felt like I had somewhat mastered it and seen most types many times. Had one awesome date, first girl that I’d felt electric for in years - like you described, it just clicked and felt like a couple or just on the same wavelength. She would speak about future things together which I thought was daring but a positive sign. And then ghosted me in pretty much the same way. Made a definite date but she was in a rus…

As a guy, I’d actually agree with waiting not as a rule or game, but as a way to genuinely assess whether his character and intent align with yours. When I started dating my girlfriend, she naturally took her time. There was undeniable chemistry, but she stayed grounded and didn’t rush into anything physical. It didn’t feel like a strategy it was just who she was. And that made me respect her more. I could tell she was selective, not just with me, but with how she approached dating in general. T…

Unfortunately dates at each other’s houses does indicate an openness for sex to happen. If you aren’t ready I’d encourage you to go out for the date. In saying this, if you really trust the guy then you can have a date like this. It doesn’t hurt to be upfront that you want to take things slow with intimacy but really want to just have a relaxing night and cook together. But if you trust him you should be confident to tell him that in person if he’s escalating things and you arnt comfortable. It …

There’s no context here about going on a date so I’d say you see her around, you haven’t made a move like a masculine guy would do so she’s realised you don’t get it. This is all assuming it wasn’t a missed signal of attraction. Go ask out the people you are interested in, the longer you wait the less the chance is

I get where you are coming from bro. Leave the world better than how you found it. I will suggest though that there is some element of truth behind the guys saying ‘white knight’ type comments. I’m the same, I like being the hero in woman’s story. And it’s important in some ways, when you find the one you want to be with long term you want her to see you as her knight in shining armour but from just the way you are not just what you do for her. The reality is you’ll break hearts and hurt feeling…

I think there is a few aspects to this. Firstly most people do not enjoy prolonged stares or suggestive body language which is not wanted. I was a topless male waiter and I would get this from woman that would just ‘objectify me’ and go on to spill their drinks to try see through my white underwear etc. I’m not going to complain too much I was paid and it’s somewhat comes with the job that there will be some bad apples time to time that I’d need to deal with and also there is a misunderstanding …

Enjoy it my dude, a girl that knocks your socks off is few and far between. Honestly these ones sting because we have to figure out as guys how to be confident enough when that one chick makes us all gooey and weak at our knees. It’s practice makes perfect, you have to do what you do with the girls that are more into you where it is easy to be calm and confident with. Hence it is typically our life story where we lose one or more of these girls and straighten out our act and date others and crea…

I refuse to date gold diggers. And I think that’s essentially what most guys are doing by getting a passport princess, it’s just what you have is considered rich there. It actually puts you back because it’s so easy to impress them without actually doing the work and being a better person, but they will put up with the beta things we are doing. I’d rather just a good western woman who’s 15 minutes from my house and I do more things right than wrong and she wants me all the time because of that. …

Too many guys aren’t taking responsibility for their sex life. The majority of comments here take 0 accountability and put 100% blame onto women. To me that is giving up your rights lol. I had the same issue for years, I reasoned with my long term partner all the time about frequency and she would cry and couldn’t figure out why she didn’t want to do it more often than once a week (barely). I read a couple different books such as 3% man by Corey Wayne and I’ve never had this issue since in multi…

I guarantee it’s not fan fiction, there was evidence presented of the door having an additional lock placed on the outside of the bathroom. I don’t know how to verify that, the major evidence would be her virginity and lack of sexual experience and that helps argue she hadn’t delved into the more extreme sides of sexual experiences. But i appreciate your story and it’s a classic one. For example one of my friends recently was cheated on but she claimed SA while being drunk. Was an obvious excuse…

Fair it seems to me the disagreement is probably in how we achieve being heard. It is my daily experience that I’m heard and understood when I seek to understand first and incorporate the common motivations into my own standpoint.

I don’t want to charge men without evidence or I would not support a rule to assume guilty until proven innocent. It’s just more digestible to see the middle ground when it’s family or loved ones which are slammed as being false accusations when it’s real. I agree 2-10% could be a liberal statistic and the real number is unknown. But I’d also argue that most woman won’t bother trying to pursue a case for personal reasons and the kind it would drag them through all very well knowing how low convi…

That is only the case in 2-10% of allegations it is estimated. I personally feel it could be as high as 30-80% of allegations. The issue is that only 2-8% of allegations are charged in court so based on statistics against that that would be 60-97% of the time there has been a SA but it doesn’t end in conviction. If we believed every allegation and based on this then this would mean roughly only 1/10 men would be actually guilty that were convicted which is obviously wrong. But I think at the lea…

I totally see the validity behind those assumptions. I guess from a point of view that is distant and impersonal I would be urged to leave it to the courts. But I think it is a highly improbably standpoint but the courts have an obligation not to wrongly convict innocent people and not to convict those guilty. And in SA with only 2-8% of cases that end in a conviction and predictions that false allegations form 2-10% of cases, by statistics this would mean that at worst 2 win for every 98 that a…

Exactly right. There is some silver lining in that going through it does leave a paper trail and should he repeat it he would likely lose next time given his history. And that does matter. Mmmmh yes I totally agree. That proof of consent sounds scary depending on what proof they are looking for. It’s almost like we are moving to an app that you have to accept consent and you have an emergency button for withdrawing consent and automatic recording devices gain visual and audio proof 😂. But then again maybe this isn’t so bad if it actually resolves the issue… romance is fucked but justice is preserved

Wow that is very profound and probably something hard to convince those affected by injustice of the former. For me I don’t even know anymore 😂 for impersonal cases I would agree, but when it’s close to home it really is challenging to believe in that. It’s more that I don’t have a better solution. There can I guess he only better technology to assist truth finding

Supposedly yes, the moan wasn’t about gender but about the decision and upset. The friend was the witness assistant and was involved with most of the proceedings. This actually makes me skeptical about that as well, I’ll probe a little at how this occurred and what was said exactly. I have no personal attachment to other than having to support the friend. For context the friend was SA’d when a child and where the person was actually convicted and was sent to prison for it. So it was a bit trigge…

Such an interesting take appreciate your time to reply. It is very true that hard evidence lacks and there is a morality of not prosecuting innocent people based on biased judgments. Do you understand the standpoint of how it appears as though these men can get away with SA relatively easily and how woman get very passionate because it would see they are powerless of a somewhat common occurrence? I’d honestly never seen it like that before this because I have lads-lads friends and practically no…

The disgruntled juror spoke out to the prosecuting lawyer. The prosecutor also inappropriately gave the family and friends after 3/4 days that it was the most compelling case they had seen in about 10 years and gave too much hope, the lawyer themselves was devastated as well.

Yeh it sounds like there is some answers that a skewed towards scenarios where there has been SA. It is true that woman value their feelings to be heard and understood first and then comes the facts. Do you want to be someone with honesty and integrity and attract woman with honest and integrity? If so then speak your truth no matter the consequences. There’s always to smooth it over and it pretty much just looks like “hey I love hanging out and spending time together, but I’d just like to be friends with benefits is that something you are open to?”.

Interesting story. The drive to want to do better is a great sign, I hope you follow through with the therapy and putting some time and effort into growing. Appreciate that however it was long time ago now (5 years) and at the time I was confused between the reason for why I did it and was compelled to move away from the relationship for gratification and how to explain that to my partner. There’s no justifiable excuse if someone has a moral that cheating is unacceptable. There’s reasons and complexities but they don’t weigh into morality. You are correct - loyal and monogamous people will raise any issues or desires they have or concerns if they arnt feeling loved and appreciated (or mistreated) enough to not stray and look for what they desire elsewhere. People who have integrity will catch themselves if being inappropriate and sort out their issues or end their relationship bec…

Men just are more physically aroused rather than emotionally aroused but it takes a degree of both for both sex’s and Varys from cheater to cheater. I think it’s pretty clear majority are related to some feeling of wanting to avoid and escape problems and being more drawn to something new that has no strings attached yet that is just shiny and exciting. Even if a guy cheats because he doesn’t have access to much sex from his wife, it’s still arguably the emotional validation of another woman des…

This is a really great question. I have been playing around with the idea that men once had rigid structures and expectations for manhood and how they would relate to each other and to the woman and children in a form of rights of passage and then an assigned role in a tribe/community. As well I think hunting expeditions and other things kept the community together and the collective expectations communicated as well as living together in community also meant common value systems and upholding o…

I think that statement assumes that woman are often in the wrong for violence, this is statistically not quite true (statistically 1 in 3-4 this will be the case). So I believe your approach is only suitable for a lower proportional of cases. I totally agree not to lead with our fists and just throw punches on first sight, it should be proportional and consider other possibilities to reduce the violence, just like when a man is hit by a woman I think it is digusting to promote ‘teaching her a le…

Have people actually had issues with this? I’ve literally very rarely had someone call me out for going and speaking to a girl in public, I remember some cases where they kept being annoyed by one after the other guy maybe at a pub and I copped frustration from them. Such a great point. Although I think we do need to continue to defend the weak and not accept mistreatment of those who are clearly being mistreated because they are physically weaker (aka woman and children). But we should make men’s problems a focus for men. Bring back mentorship and banding together to grow stronger men, stronger children. The reality is we do live in a different world and what’s needed of us has changed from 50 and 100 years ago. And I think we are struggling a lot more than…

How do you see the way to close the divide? Not for the extreme cases but for the majority where woman have had some not nice experiences of harassment and fear look to feminism to help make things more fair and respectful and men who are respectful in their actions but refuse to be apart of the feminist movement where it is today (confusing)?

I super respect this. Need more of this on all sides. I’m exposed to a fair bit of this, hell I am dating a relatively radical feminist. I try to just use better communication to get to the root of their feelings so I can understand what’s motivating their emotion and try speak to that. I try avoid getting to deep into the disagreements, there tends to be a level of humanity that i largely agree with and I just try draw boundaries or remove myself should there be too much irrationality.

Good prompt, we need more thinking like this in the group. I usually go for “oh no, I’m hearing maybe some offence was taken or maybe that the comment came across condescending, is that right?” Clarify precisely what it was, in this scenario they may just be on drugs but if it was a general person there should be a genuine answer if form like Ana adult and calm, then “It was a failed attempt at kind and playful, but seriously I just like rice and veg”

Yeh should just be an equal focus on how to speak through and gain respect from the loud mouth male students. We have to remember they are referring to the annoying bully in the class room without any impulse control and not the average male student. Her approach will fail because she fundamentally doesn’t have respect for the bully so he will just continue to disrespect her.

Right, I see what you’re saying - that the constant pursuit of romance and feeling giddy leads to most couples being unhappy and separating or infidelity when they realise they don’t have the spark anymore? Great point, it’s ironic because I think we would find that feminists would completely agree with this and that it may not suit many and they shouldn’t have to. But yes if there are polar roles of masculine and feminine the man is the the organiser of dates and romance and when he leads it through a fulfilled romantic night and into the bedroom, all the woman needs to do is come along for the ride and enjoy and it polarises their feminine experience and makes them just able to experience the adv…

Hello, M31 here, pretty curious and invested in dating and relationships. As a general rule I’d say a very healthy self esteem and having a robust understanding of your ideal qualities you are looking for. I’d list out 10 wants and 10 don’t wants and assess your date to that. If you think they fit the bill, and most importantly they show high attraction to date and court you then go for it. All relationships start as casual affairs in the modern world and eventually they decide to be exclusive, …

You can still try them but as soon as you realise you don’t want to date them, just let them go and focus on what you are actually looking for. If your game is that tight as you say you’ll be getting a reasonable amount of sex anyway but don’t make that the goal. Like others say, sex addiction therapy may be the way of…

I think you’ve summarised it very well. I personally think the disintegration of the nuclear family and the over sexualisation/woman’s sexual freedom being promoted is namely to blame since the 1980s. Prior to that it was more shifted towards men, woman realised a high quality provider was the real win. If you look at novelties from the 1940s-1980s generally it is feminine woman who are fighting over the real masculine competent man who has a big mission and trying to escape the town and go to a…

You have to work on yourself because deep down you feel like you don’t deserve real, reciprocal love so you live with fantasy love from someone that doesn’t reciprocate romantic feelings for you. The first criteria of a partner should be that they value and have high attraction to you.
