If it were just a divorce and we split everything, I could see it. But keeping my kids from me and trying to fuck me over in every way pretty much precludes any friendship.

The game isn't over when the pawn takes the queen, it's over when the king falls. Not my quote, but as a chess player this struck a note for me.

I met a couple of women who were so kind and attentive. I never had to really ask for anything. It really freaked me out. I got compliments, and when I I wanted to talk about something, it didn't turn into her smashing a cabinet full of glasses on the floor. Even when I was dead wrong but thought I was right, we were able to talk like rational human beings without a knife being thrown at me. Even appologies from her when she was wrong! It was so strange to me I didn't know what to do. In the end…

You'll never change enough. Get a lawyer, segregate your money if you have joint accts, do not let her leave with the kids.

Wake the fuck up. Don't have a kid with her. Sepperate your money and as much stuff as you can. Hope for the best and plan for the worst.

Dude. I've had some pretty bad shit happen, maybe worse than you, but let me tell you: I was there and now I'm not. You gotta work to find the light, but it's there. If you aren't getting help, you need to. Reach out if you need too. Dm always open.

Man, that's me too. If you go to divorce, you need to ask to judge to keep them from moving out of state.

I'd say file first. Make sure you get the evidence in a legal way and get as much as you can.

My only family is three states away, so not really an option since i need to see my kids. And yes, I got this great deal with the help of a lawyer.

Thanks man. I needed to hear this. If you're willing I'd like to dm you sometime. I'm isolated and I feel like I don't have anyone.

Yeah. Sorry. So I got retired at 18.5 years. The Army rated me at 90% and the VA at 100% perm and total. So I get 75% my base pay (the max) for retirement. Because I didn't make 20 years I can't get both VA and Army retirement pay. They pay you whichever is higher, but the VA "waives" about 4k that's not taxed. The total is 5.7k.

I'm getting $5.7 k a month in retirement. She is getting about 3k. I haven't went the SSD route yet as I'm still looking for a job.

You made me tear up man. It's fucking hard. I sacrificed my mind and body for my kids and the courts decided bc she was with them more she got custody. All that sacrifice just for it to be used against me. I'm fucking at the end of my rope.

The kids and house are in MS, so it's that jurisdiction I have to work with as I understand it.

I have a lawyer. I had to sell shit to afford it. She spent the joint savings on hers. I can't afford to get another lawyer.

MS. It's one of only 4 states that doesn't take the mothers income in account when it comes to child support. It's a flat 20% of the non custodial parent.

When we walked into the courthouse everyone agreed to sell the house. That didn't make it into the order and when I asked her if she had gotten a realtor, she said she had no intention of selling the house.

She also makes more than me now. This is a temp order. We also have a prenup that states I can live in the house until the divorce is finalized. And that any property we buy is split based on the percentage we contributed. Which I've paid the mortage on every house we've owned.
