Any position that starts from having to justify your own immoral behavior is probably one you want to reconsider.

In non-trad couples you’re usually allowed to say no. In trad/Evangelical marriages the expectation is a woman doesn’t refuse her husband.

I didn’t say there were single women there. I specifically said the point was to make friends with people who aren’t single women. The point is to develop a social network who will introduce you to those single women. You’re far more likely to get a higher quality woman who will give you a chance if her aunt, colleague, or friend, says “hey I know this awesome guy, you should meet him” than if you have be hotter/more interesting than a 1000 other guys on an app. No wonder you come across as a cr…

A guy joining a group of mostly young women? Yes, likely to be perceived as creep since we all know why you’re there. A guy joining a gardening club where half the people are literal boomers, who focuses on the hobby and making friendships? Guy who keeps showing up and is friendly and helpful to everyone not just the young women? Good guy who people will want to introduce to their coworkers, cousins, and friends. Edit: I thought this went without saying, but when I say a more female centric hobb…

Go places and do things. It’s both simple and hard work, but meeting people in real life is 1000% better than the apps. Cultivate a couple female centric hobbies—join a gardening club, volunteer at an animal rescue, find a book club, etc. Find something you like enough to go regularly so you start getting to know the other regulars better. Focus on developing friendships especially with happily married older women. They will love trying to find someone for you.

Very few men make enough for their wife to stay at home. The vast majority of mothers work. So they have two jobs while the husband has one. If she doesn’t work, financial dependence is very risky. Would you be comfortable knowing you had no personal saving and no way to leave a bad situation if you needed to? People who need high levels of intellectual stimulation are going to find that much more in a fulfilling career than they will with a toddler. Mother’s Day is a single day of the year. Tha…

Initial attraction has very little to with long-term compatibility (for either sexual or emotional compatibility).

Very few people get everything they want in life. What makes you so special that you’re one of the few who should expect it?

Billionaires act purely on desire because they have the power to get away with literally anything, regardless of legality or morality. Are you seriously holding up Epstein as your model?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/25 06:57 PM

Billionaires are a clear example and reasonable proxy 😂😂😂 Of who exactly? About 0.00001% of all men?

Are you a billionaire? Why on earth would you think that the social constructs of billionaires, or even millionaires, apply to you or the average person? You sound like a teenage girl who thinks TikTok or IG reels reflect the reality of most women.

How many billionaire men are marrying women with no social background. You seem to be holding men to a much lower standard. Their actions are logical and therefore above criticism, but anything a woman decides is tautologically illogical, and therefore should be criticized.

Everyone does more than they want to. It’s called being an adult.

Sex workers at the street walker level with pimps aren’t making more than the average only fans girl. Their rates are low, the pimp keeps most as their initial cut, and then takes almost all the rest “in exchange” for rent, the drugs he got her hooked on, etc. Edit: liberal women may be skeptical of legalized sex work, but they are not the main naysayers. That’s the Christian right.

Most women are “mid”. As are most men. That’s literally what average means. If you want above average, be above average. Doesn’t sound like your friend was.

Our government is currently being ran by a Christian fundamentalist playbook (Project 2025), our Supreme Court is controlled by Christian fundamentalist, and Congress is far more Christian than the country it represents. Sure it’s not popular in the cultural zeitgeist like Hollywood or main stream media, but does it really matter if no one likes them if they control everything?

At a societal level, if we want more kids we need to make our society more accommodating to parents. Subsidized if not free pre-school for the middle class (not just poverty level), government mandated parental leave, government mandated PTO so people don’t lose their jobs when a kid has to stay home sick, universal health care, etc, etc. Let’s not act like the main reason educated, middle class Americans aren’t having kids is simply lack of opportunity at a reasonable age.

I believe you said in another comment that you’re Canadian? I think you’re really underestimating the influence of American Evangelicals on the rising extremism in the West, including over gender. I do agree with your general premise that certain cultures are definitely more likely than others to hold certain beliefs. I just think American Evangelical is one of them.

Yeah. I would guess it has to do with our binge drinking culture. Pretty much any club or large bar (especially near a college) is going to have bouncers to deal with fighting, though it usually gets broken up at the pushy-shovey stage.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
