I'm speaking from a US perspective so it may not directly apply. But you're missing the reasoning behind alimony. Alimony is not a punishment for divorce. While married and sharing finances, it is common for one party to make personal career sacrifices for the good of the household. A common split would be for the wife to take a lower paying job with more flexibility to handle the kids/house while the husband focuses on increased wages. That's done with the assumption of staying together, so whe…

That's on the level of gambling your house away or some other addiction/mental illness. He needs to be placed under a conservator so he can't freely spend his own money if he can't do things to endanger himself.

Still she would have learnt a valuable lesson When someone picks a fight, it feels like they should get retaliated against. You punched me, now you get punched back, and you will have faced the consequences of your actions. But that is separate from the necessary defense / attempt to flee that is clearly acceptable. Legally necessary-defense/flee is the correct choice though often a retaliation (with equal force they used) will be fine as it would be considered self defense. Morally I don't know…

She may have been wrong in some parts of it but I get what she's trying to say. If life was a game and you got the chance to reroll your character with random everything (location/family/etc) but you could select race/gender, what race/gender would give you the best min/max outcome? I'd be choosing white male. For some scenarios it wouldn't matter at all and it'd be just cosmetic. But there are some instances if you didn't choose white man you'd be in trouble (black guy in 1800 america / woman i…

Not being able to prove the charge doesn't mean the charge was made up. I expect most claims that don't convict are stopped due to lack of evidence or inconsistencies, not obtaining proof that the accuser was lying. Then no counter case is put forward. The number of proven cases of lying is likely very small.

I bet most of the people on the list deserve it, but the existence of some people on it that arguably aren't dangerous delegitimizes the list. The list should be reserved for real threats, not as a punishment. Which is why I'm against the OP opinion.

Do note that a movement can't say anything, people who are a part of the movement do. Are the feminists in the title the same feminists who insisted on believing with no context allowed? Or have the 'believe no matter what' feminists gone quiet and the 'believe just meant support' feminists started getting louder/more attention? There are hypocrites and crazies in every group. I'm sure there are some who are claiming they never said things they did, or some with morals based on whatever benefits…

Not sure id classify this with police brutality, though i do agree that the cop shouldnt have done it. I completely understand, if someone hits you then you hit them back. If they didnt want to get hit they shouldnt have hit you, they deserve it. BUT I believe cops should be held to a higher standard. In customer service it doesnt matter if the customer is insulting you, you cant cuss them out. In the same way if a person who is not a threat kicks at a cop, the cop shouldnt swing back. This woma…

Yeah it seems like they accomplished what they set out to do.

But anyone could advertise around and offer rides for money. Uber isnt stopping people from doing that. Drivers use Uber's platform to work on because it has advantages over doing it themselves. That's why Uber gets a cut. Uber has a widespread audience of riders and drivers. Drivers use it because they can easily find customers on it and can trust that they will get paid. Customers use it because you can get a driver quickly just about anywhere and trust in the app (that the driver is ok bc a b…

Yeah I wondered that too. They took a day off work and things functioned fine. Doesnt that show that their impact isnt big? Of course not all women participated in this and it was only for one day so that's not a fair blanket statement either.

So? Women 100% have it worse than men when it comes to having a child. But she had a choice of whether or not to go through with it. The man didn't. As soon as a couple finds out that their birth control didn't work and theyre expecting, the man has no say in whether or not they are having the child or in his financial responsibility for that child.

Except its not like I ever owned or contributed to slavery, so why should i be punished for what my ancestors did anymore than a black person should be a slave because his ancestors were? Under your rules we should gas all the germans because their great grandparents tried to do it to the jews. Your ideology only perpetuates the racism / divide between people that caused the problem in the first place.

Maybe they fighting before hand and he was going to call someone so she took it and ran?

But would you blame the girl?

I mean it makes sense. Same thing with black people being banned from kkk meetings. You cant have a meeting of a hate group if they people youre hating are there to defend themselves.

Im fine with that. Let them do what they want. But the issue is when it's allowed it leads to a very unhealthy industry with a lot of crime. Supressing it by making it illegal, while sucking for girls being stopped from making a living doing it, is better overall for everyone/society.

Out of curiousity what do you do? Thats an age where you could have finished college or worked your way up to that.

Exactly. Now youre part of the exclusive group of guys there with a chance at girls rather than a guy at a place full of guys. Worth the extra price

So what do we do in response to this? Lower the price for guys and more will come. Then itll be a sausage fest and it will stop being enjoyable. Guys dont want to go to a party of guys. Raise the price for girls and theyll go elsewhere and the guys will follow. People frequent these places expecting to have a chance with the opposite sex. If the quantites of guys and girls isnt similar it loses its value and people will go elsewhere. This is supply and demand. There are more guys that want to be…
