2	[STUDY] False rape accusations can be just as traumatic or damaging as rape itself. Yes, it does ruin lives. Keep in mind that "innocent until proven guilty" only refers to the constitutional legal requirement that the proof rests with the accuser/prosecutor in the actual criminal trial. In the real world, you are guilty until proven innocent. You still suffer the trauma of arrest and pre-trial detention, if you can not make bail.
