While I agree with you in most cases, I've actually had a different experience. Every time I start putting on weight (powerlifter combo of fat and muscle), I start doing better with the ladies. Problem with that is people take it to the extreme and next thing you know they're eating 800-1200/day, can't lose weight, and give up and go on sugar binges. Following an actual plan like Keto (even though I'm not 100% on board with it) can help immensely. People's understanding of nutrition is awful and they don't understand that they don't have to starve themselves to lose weight.

From what I have read and my experience (I've competed in power lifting several times), they don't have any ill effects on knees if done correctly.
