It's the fact that circumcised males didn't get to choose, regardless of how whether they are happy with it or not. I was circumcised and I wish I wasn't. I've always felt like I was missing something and I've always felt like my penis isn't sensitive enough. This is likely the result of my circumcision. Unfortunately, I didn't get to choose whether I was circumcised or not.

I am in class and can't find sources right now, but some negative effects that have been cited are erectile dysfunction, complications from the procedure causing damage or even amputation of the genitals, wound infection, and even death (something like 100 babies per year). The death of one baby from circumcision should be enough for non-consensual citcumcision to be outlawed. Even if there isn't evidence (there very well may be but I'm not aware of it), the amount of risk reduction that studies show is virtually insignificant, and may give circumcised individuals a false sense of protection, thereby possibly increasing HIV rates (not to mention the fact that circumcision causes a variety of other problems). Proper sexual education is much more effective.

I disagree. You can argue about "meaning" all you want but objectification still exists. Women are (generally) sexually objectified far more than men. On the other hand, men are (generally) financially objectified far more than women. But feminists tend to take the whole "objectification" thing too far, and male financial objectification is largely ignored. Also, it seems like the sexual objectification of males is becoming more common.

I find it somewhat funny that all verifiable examples of "rape culture" are against men. We live in a society where male rape is dismissed, ignored, laughed about, not taken seriously, and in the case of woman-on-man rape, seen as being a privilege for the guy. Now that's rape culture.

Affirmative action shouldn't be used. It's a faulty quick fix to the issue that only creates more problems. Scholarships, programs, encouragement, etc. are a much better way of increasing the representation of a group in majors/occupations.

I think 10 inch monster schlong was just an extreme example. But the point is, most guys are insecure about their penis size. Penis size is joked about so often and small penises are probably shamed and ridiculed more than any other body part, male or female. You are right about it, men don't complain about body image issues. But, of course, they do exist; most men just don't know it because society tells us that only women can have them.

the HPV vaccination is for boys, too. HPV can lead to cancers in boys as well (i think penile cancer but dont quote me on it), and the vaccination can prevent this. the HPV vaccination is almost always marketed only towards women for some fucked up reason, though.

the only case i can see this applying is with women wearing thongs on a beach. but i wouldnt say that they are praised. opinions would probably be split between praise and criticism. for a man, most people would think wearing a thong on the beach is gross, gay, or both. but this isnt that big of an issue and most people dont wear thongs to beaches anyways.

i am glad to see that someone else was as disgusted by this as i was. when the OP was first posted, i expected it to get downvoted into oblivion because it was so ridiculous and irrelevant to men's rights, and that's what usually happens. but when i came back, i saw a 70% approval rating and it really made me sad. i would really like men's rights to be better than other movements and not develop the hate that feminism has. unfortunately, i don't see it becoming much different.

This is one of the things that I feel sets the MRM apart from feminism. We check each other when were wrong. Despite focusing on men's rights, we do our best to avoid being paranoid, misogynistic, or sexist. And it's good to see that you realized that you came off negatively and apologized.
