Here's a quote from someone in this thread: "There's a few aspects of patriarchy to consider. 1st it's the idea of a male-led society to the exclusion of women. 2nd it's forced oppression of women. Both don't exist, and it's about perspective. On the 1st claim of "patriarchy" is just the optimal way our species survives. It's also the way lots of other species survive with male leadership. To lead a herd of elk, a pride of lions, or a tribe of people you have to be the strongest & biggest & mo…

Then how can you deny the existence of the patriarchy

Historically, women have been viewed as morally, intellectually, and physically inferior to men; that women are the property of men; that women's role in society is to reproduce and to serve men in the household; and that male domination of women is natural. Do you deny that?

I hate that twoX is a default sub. Everyone automatically gets subbed to it when they make a new account right? That makes it so that it's impossible to have any thoughtful discussion on there anymore because it means that people who never wanted to see that stuff to begin with have to. They make troll comments which makes the people who want to be there mad, which attracts misogynists to join in, which attracts misandrists to balance it out. It just makes the sub very radicalized and forces ove…

I found this sub on r/Feminism: they were talking about subs they wish didn't exist. It popped up beside r/MensRights. I am a feminist so naturally I have conflicting ideas about this sub. I don't think it shouldn't exist though. The vibe I get from you guys is that you think that nobody should be generalized based on the population they're a part of, especially if they're only part of a population because of something they can't change, like gender, race ect. You guys don't like the association…

i can, on the other hand, point out many examples of women being excused from murder because of ... premenstrual syndrome, being a woman and having a bright future Can you point those out to me please?

"2 people not trained in trench rescue don't attempt a trench rescue, call for the trench rescue experts" Yeah this is actually pretty standard protocol. Even if it were 2 men they would've waited for the rescue crew to come because there's no equipment and 2 people aren't enough to lift someone out of a 6 ft hole without putting themselves at risk of injury As for not going down there, OP was stable. Best they could do is splint the ankle. Should they have? I guess so but if they were going to …

Could any of you guys give me any stats reflecting women joining EMS as leading to more patient death? If you can't, it's just an opinion and you're thinking with your emotions instead of your brain

Could you give me some stats backing up your claims that women are causing more people to die in EMS or fire?

Technical rescue isn't in an EMT's job description
/r/MensRights02/09/22 12:49 PM
1

Why though? What does the navy fitness standards have to do with any of this? I'm trying to tell you, the 2 EMS ladies did their job. Their job isn't to do technical rescues. Even if it were 2 fire fighters who arrived on scene, they would've waited for backup because their job isn't to injure themselves trying to lift a guy out of a hole without any equipment
/r/MensRights02/09/22 12:27 PM

Like what though?
/r/MensRights02/09/22 11:51 AM

How is feminism the cause of that?
/r/MensRights02/09/22 11:37 AM

Not even fire is required to be able to lift a guy out of a hole above their head with no equipment and only 2 people Please, the critical thinking part of your brain exists for a reason
/r/MensRights02/09/22 11:35 AM

Yes, just like how if firefighters rolled up to a patient having a heart attack, they would say yup this is a real emergency and wait for EMS to arrive

Ph my god these comments are going to make me go insane THAT IS ACTUALLY HOW FIRST RESPONDERS WORK SIR Also you're using the words diagnose and triage wrong Fire does rescues, EMS does treatment. This post is an example of the system working as it is supposed to

This is one of those situations you crazy man Paramedics don't have any training or equipment to extricate people from situations like this. Firefighters exist specifically for this purpose. If they tried to do it, they would've gotten in trouble because we're specifically instructed NOT to try and extricate from these situations. This is regardless of gender: even if it was just 2 guys, they would've been instructed to wait. 1. Trying to extricate a patient from a hole when you don't have the r…

They did their job. EMS has no training or equipment to do these rescues. You need more than 2 people and you need equipment to get a stretcher out of a 6 ft hole, unless you want to put yourself at risk for injuries. I'm in EMS, we're specifically instructed to not do that. Firefighters exist to do that
/r/MensRights02/09/22 11:06 AM
1

Yes. EMS did their job, so did rescue. OP told his story in the most sexist way he could to make it sound like the EMS people were incompetent when they were sticking to what's in their scope. I can promise you, those EMS ladies have seen worse than a fractured ankle. You'd probably know that too if you spent even 10 minutes around a paramedic of any gender. It's also very par for the course on this sub to make things that aren't gender issues into gender issues, like waiting for the rescue team…

Internal bleeding from what? His ankle? 😑 What would you have liked them to do? Best they could do is splint the ankle. Getting a stretcher out of a 2m hole needs more than 2 people and some elbow grease, at the very least you'll need more equipment, which isn't carried on the ambulance. Well unless you want to destroy your back and retire early. Doesn't matter if you're male or female. You guys really don't know much about EMS. This is a standard call: you get on scene, find the patient in a po…

/r/MensRights02/09/22 10:39 AM

That is literally a firefighter's main job description. If they didn't want to do rescues they should've done EMS who aren't supposed to do rescues because they're not trained for them
/r/MensRights02/09/22 10:38 AM
1

Dude they have an entirely different job from those men. They probably don't even work for the same service. EMS =/= rescue
/r/MensRights02/09/22 10:37 AM
1

My god this sub has like 10 brain cells total lol No it's not negligent to not do a rescue you have no gear or training for. Actually it might be considered negligent to attempt it knowing there is a rescue team on standby who's whole job is to extricate patients like this, especially on a patient this stable
/r/MensRights02/09/22 10:30 AM
1

This post isn't evidence of any standard being lowered, only of EMS following protocol. EMT's don't have any trench rescue gear or training. They would definitely get in trouble if they tried doing it themselves when there is a whole team on standby SPECIFICALLY for this. Especially on a patient that just has a fractured ankle
/r/MensRights02/09/22 10:27 AM
1

There is no special rules or requirements coming into play here. EMS has no rescue training. If you took away all genders in this it still makes sense: 2 EMT's arrived on scene, found someone in a place they couldn't extricate from without special equipment, deemed the patient stable and called the fire fighters who basically exist to do tough extrications
/r/MensRights02/09/22 10:23 AM
1

Yes 😑 Trench rescue isn't in our training no matter what gender we are. HR would probably have a fit if they knew that EMT's risked becoming patient #2 and 3 trying to do a rescue they hadn't been trained for and had no equipment for, on a stable patient who could just wait 10 mins for the rescue team to show up Also female fire fighters still have to go into burning buildings. Most look forward to it actually
/r/MensRights02/09/22 10:16 AM

Most medics I know prefer to be paired with the opposite gender because it gives more options in cases like sexual assault, and if they need a lift assist they can just call for backup
/r/MensRights02/09/22 10:11 AM
1

Nothing is scarier to an EMS worker than a fractured ankle 😑 Trust me they've seen worse
/r/MensRights02/09/22 10:09 AM

She's right women go through much more to bring someone into the world. Just objectively. I don't know how this is a topic of contention
/r/MensRights02/09/22 10:07 AM

I think you definitely have to be living in an echo chamber to think OP didn't exaggerate or change the story to make it a gender issue. You know what scares EMS workers more than anything? Fractured ankles 😑 I promise you, they've seen worse. They didn't go into the hole because EMS isn't trained to do so, fire is
/r/MensRights02/09/22 10:04 AM

If you think OP didn't exaggerate or change the story to suit his sexist assumptions, you must be from a different planet The long and short of it is: they did their job. They arrived on scene, realized it was unsafe and called for people trained to go in there. This happens all the time regardless of if it were men or women arriving first on scene. It's why firefighters exist. Even if they were scared or something, they still did their job: they did exactly what they are paid to do and followed…
