They claim we're the oppressors who wants to control them, while they ridicule and mock us in enormous numbers. I think you may be suffering from the same sense of oppression that the Christian church often does. Getting mocked is not evidence of oppression. If men were in power, you'd think our movement would have huge success. I think another Jon Stewart/religion parallel is relevant here. Men are in power, have been in power, and will continue to be in power for a long long time.

Absolutely a fair point. And "screamed at," "kicked out" and being hung up on are all subjective interpretations of other people's actions. Edit: Deleted some language that I thought better of.

nor have I ever witnessed such a thing amongst my colleagues Exactly. I don't think anyone's arguing that men aren't victimized by women, women by men, women by women, and men by men. And any time it happens is terrible, AND awareness of all of it is all important. I think what I, and others, are reacting to is that part of this story sounds, at a minimum, exaggerated. Which, unfortunately, throws the rest of the story into doubt.

Does anyone else find such a violent reaction from three parties like this kind of hard to believe? Honestly, knowing lots of counselors, both male and female, I can't imagine anyone yelling/screaming at someone or kicking them out of an office, even if (especially if) they think that person's lying to them.
