I’d say being aware that the other shoe can drop at any moment is simply just vetting for life. And there is nothing wrong with that. If we de-center men from our lives, and do have to stop seeing a man once he does display red flags, then it’s not as much of a wrecking ball moment. I believe I’m much happier living by FDS principles than when I was giving every man the benefit of doubt. They honestly have never deserved it.

In the book ‘Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men’ (Caroline Criado Perez), a statistic is brought up that a woman living with a man increases the housework a woman does by 7x. Not by 2x as you might think. But 7 freaking times. When I heard that, I thought back to the men I’ve lived with before. And I could see it. I thought about when a man has stayed at my place for just one night before. And I could still see it. And let me tell you. I’M 👏🏻NOT 👏🏻INTERESTED. I have better th…

I had sex years ago with a man who was a virgin. However, by the time we had sex a second time, he had done his online research and was better than anyone else I had been with at that point. All without me telling him how. So yes. I’m with you on this - they should do their own research.

I don’t startle awake from his sudden, extremely loud snoring he wouldn’t solve, ME going to sleep on the couch, and then having to emotionally coddle him because he was sad I went to sleep on the couch.

If the men you work with made sexist jokes in the first place, and on top of that make fun of you for not enjoying their sexist jokes?? They aren’t HVM or ‘good husbands’. We don’t have to remind HVM to not be sexist and that their behavior is inappropriate.

Yes, yes, yes! All I could think while reading the OP’s post was how he is pulling power moves left and right. He wants her to beg. He wants that control.

Your friends giving you advice sound like pickmes. Seems like you’ve apologized and supported him more than enough. Where are his apologies and his support for you? You’re gaslighting yourself A LOT. You deserve better. SO much better! As hard as this is right now, putting all the effort into a relationship that only serves a LVM is a lot harder. No light at the end of that tunnel.

Have y’all seen ‘Marry Me’? I don’t follow celeb news at all, but could tell she was a pickme simply by watching that movie. Because only a pickme would choose to play the role.

Damned if we do, damned if we don’t. I suggest reading the comments on the article, if you want to cringe hard. The scrotes came out to play.

I’ve been there too. It’s a terribly defeating feeling, so I’m sending you good energy ✨ What helps me forgive myself for dating LVM and engaging in pick me behaviors in the past, is a lot of rage writing (I write for at least 20 minutes uninterrupted and unfiltered about everything I’m enraged about - whether it’s judging myself for decisions in the past, or raging about the way I was treated by someone. By the end, it’s clear I wasn’t the problem. It was being raised in a patriarchal society. …

I preach about FDS and FDS principles to my coworkers, my hair stylist, and any other women I can get to listen. Saving lives, is what it is 🙌🏻

‘Compromise should never make you dependent on him’. Simply put and widely applicable. 🙏🏻

Yep. I asked my mom to stop being friends on Facebook with my LVX when I divorced him. Her response? “No. He didn’t do anything to me.” She’s still friends with someone on Facebook that I dated back in 2009. Tells me all about how he had another daughter, and how cute she is. Despite me telling her I just don’t care. My family acts like I’m a ‘player’ or ‘too picky’, when I simply choose not to settle anymore. As if I am the problem, and the problem isn’t all the LVM/NVM out there.

Ew. Men love kicking women when we are already down. Such a power move on his part.

Oh God. Most song lyrics are ruined for me since I found FDS (not sad about it). I literally say “Ew.” out loud now while listening 😂

SAME! I had to google “how to block someone on LinkedIn”. Because it had never crossed my mind an ex would think to find me on there. They have issues with boundaries when we date them. And issues afterwards. It never ends.

This! I firmly believe there is an abusive man at the end of almost every ‘crazy’ or ‘psycho’ woman. And if not one man, patriarchal society in general.

A received a Facebook message from one of his ‘friends’ telling me they had gotten together while my ex bf and I had been dating. She was unkind to me in it and I was shocked. I received the message while the guy I had been dating was on a church mission (and he could only write letters to me). I then found out about two other women he had been with while we had been dating as well. One of which was his ex, and the other was a ‘friend’, but she believed they were committed. I didn’t date him aga…
