Hmm. What I am referring to is definitely not banter. Perhaps the last explanation was inaccurate. What I am referring to has ego and a desire to feel powerful. Perhaps it is not a part of seduction.

I think it is instinctive. This happens even among friends. People just enjoy a bit of push and pull. If you get things without struggle they are not as fun.

But I believe that the initial phase, the chase, the courtship part, always has a power struggle.

Because they're either playing mind games This is what I was talking about when I said power struggle.

Right.... Thats the way to live.

Yeah, my friend. But she did help me feel happy and optimistic. And that's what I focus on.

Well, I found her sometimes making suggestions about possibilities that are very unlikely. I told her that I wanted to immigrate to first world nation and that two of my best friends are studying / working there. She said - maybe they will find a way out and help you move there. This is very unlikely because they are struggling themselves. Finishing education and getting a work visa and a job. It is not easy. Secondly, I told her that a girl played me by pretending to be single for two months wh…

Nah. I was as polite and technical as possible. Actually she had fuelled my wishful thought pattern. She did that thinking that she is helping me get out of depression, but wishful thinking is not healthy optimism. I was addressing that when she hung up the phone.

No. I tried to give her some feedback / advice on her therapy style but she hung up the phone. I never returned to her since then.

Yes. I have been on meds for almost a decade now. It was quite a struggle to get on right meds. It took years. I worked very hard with a therapist who helped me experience optimism and happiness. I learned how it felt. I still manage to get myself out of depression and feel optimistic and happy through pure therapy. It worked out well in that particular aspect.

For some reason no one has ever liked me. There are some mental health issues also at play here. I found that people used to like me when I used to smoke weed. I am not a very popular person.

No. I am a control freak who hates negative labels, such as loser, cuck etc so I proactively try to steer it. I also tend to blame myself so I hate it too much when things go wrong, that makes me extra careful.

Yeah, they weren't friends. They were just class mates.

I think this is because of excessive bullying I went through as a child, from friends and also siblings.

Hmmm. Not projecting is going to help me. I think I find it hard to trust people. Hence I am always manipulating them.

Possibly. Perhaps I might be the twisted one who always finds himself in such dynamics. I think my thought pattern is twisted to the core where I don't speak my mind but I keep how I appear under consideration and speak to appear a certain way. I also find that I love to play push and pull with the people I love. I often find myself pushing them away for a while and if they try to come to me it gives me a rush.

Yes. I cut contacts with all of the people who did this.

Trust me, my friend, I have had female friends / romantic interests who have done so for days. Obviously it is something that can never be confirmed. But they love to do so. I had an old interest who would call out of the blue, we would get back in talking terms (I guess), then not answer any of my calls even if they are spread out over few days. Few months later she would repeat this shit. I have many more examples. The conclusion is the same. The rush of power. They love to reject / deny / mak…

Why do you think people delay texting back and make the other person wait?

Are there any books on relationships that view it from the perspective of power struggle? When I analyse relationships I always find myself stopping at the conclusion that there is power struggle involved. Both the parties wants to have power over the other party. I would be surprised if I find that there isn't pre existing theories on this.

Yes, but I believe once they get the validation they want they move on, perhaps to next endeavor. For they got the ego massage they wanted and no longer feel the need to prove themselves.

Well, when you are talking to her and then you guys decide to send each other photos of yourselves to better assess how attractive you are. What do you think about validation though? When I used to follow red pill more seriously few years back, I would do anything but validate a woman, I think it made them stick around for longer. Eventually I developed a lot of empathy / sympathy for almost everyone and I would validate people right and left.

At this point I would say confidence is a state of mind and not state of being

A bit of depth psychology over here : I grew up being humble and when I see someone being cocky, I feel a bit jealous. I feel cheated, because I think being humble is the route and they are not taking the right route.

When you reduce the attention would you let her figure or tell her what turned you off?

Jealous guys would never compliment you or more importantly never compliment you in public. They might fake compliment you in private if they want to get some favour from you.

Once you know who is jealous of you, you would know how to navigate interactions with them. If you have to interact with the person for long time on a regular basis, this would come handy. I am talking about interactions in work place, college, even with relatives.

I actually entertain the idea of becoming a monk. But I don't want to be celibate.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
