For those that were betrayed….How long did the shock take to wear off?Took me about 3 years. Was a mess for awhile but figured out she made her choice and nothing I say or do could change it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/09/25 11:07 AM
24 M, is marriage worth it?Ive (57m) told my son (24m) to not do it, it will never be in his best interest and the system is completely rigged against husbands/fathers. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/03/25 08:23 AM
Not sure how to deal with this.I was feeling the very same as you at the beginning but mostly because she caught me flat footed and I was not prepared either emotionally or financially. It's been a couple of years now and I have both those box's checked now. I'm sorry you're going through similar pain and all I can really say is you can't fix her or her feelings, you can however take care of yourself and plan for your future. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/12/24 10:43 AM
Not sure how to deal with this.Looking at it from a different angle but maybe she's really doing you a solid here. Im almost 57, wife told me 4 years ago about her affair in 2012. Destroyed me but I stayed due to financial concerns. Im better now, went grey rock, dont wear the ring, have not and would never say "I love you" again. I struggle every day feeling locked down by her and our fake marriage, kind of envy you due to your soon to be ex willing to rip off the bandaid. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/12/24 12:56 PM
Lucky56 here, why did the court give her so much of your assets and not just 50%? Also, since she was a medical professional, did you get some of hers as well? | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/03/24 09:14 AM
LuckyBro, 56 here...buck up man..ever hear of passport bros? Man o Man do I envy you and the potential you have...Dont know all the particulars of your situation but I truly hope you can get out of the funk and enjoy/make the most of your time man. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/03/24 09:09 AM
I’m back after 6 monthsWait, you said divorce isn't final yet? If they did get married it's void in most states. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/03/24 11:15 AM

Was this a mistake ?I hear you and felt the same but just when you least expect it you (I did) cross paths unexpectedly with the right one. For what its worth I wouldnt worry about dating or 2nd marriage and let it haporganicallypen and enjoy your child as much as possible. I also learned (yeah im a old fart) that children grow up waaaayyyy more faster than we could ever imagine. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/02/24 06:14 PM
Update: [MI] Wife caught me in an affairI caught my wife doing same thing. It happened in 2018 and after the turmoil it caused I made the questionable decision to stay. It hasnt been pretty, Ill admit. I took off the wedding ring, I absolutely dont say "I love you" and generally am very cold to her. Not a day doesnt go by that I dont think about her betrayal. This will be your life if you go back but in reverse. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/02/24 11:05 AM
Was this a mistake ?Take it as a big win for yourself and especially for your son, it is the best and healthiest outcome for the both of you. I've been divorced 33 yrs now and even though my ex had an affair when I was at war, pillaged my savings, left me with a empty home upon return from the war and basically destroyed our family....now I feel absolutely nothing either good or bad for her. Time heals all wounds:) | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/02/24 10:59 AM
Has anyone’s Ex-wife ever apologized for putting them through hell?Ha, sort of. Dude she dumped me for and I got the honor of supporting with my child support turned around and dumped her as soon as his med school was over. The look on her face said it all for me:) | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/02/24 12:01 PM

Divorced for 20+ YearsYou are my new fav super hero! This is from a 56 yr old who's been married 32 yrs now and the last 18 have been horrible....hate to admit it but its "cheaper to keep her" for me now. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/02/24 11:55 AM
Someone talk some sense into me.This! Wife pulled same stuff on me in 2018 and Ive done the boundaries and have never felt better. I've focussed on paying off debt, gotten a better paying job and biding my time. I took off the wedding ring and never ever say anything remotely about love. Not being cruel but have zero emotional cares anymore. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/12/23 12:10 PM
