I agree for the most part. I don’t disagree that military service has been tied to voting rights in the past. And I am also of the view the draft is an unfair burden that men have to undertake. I find the points about how women didn’t want suffrage being related to this interesting in your other comment. To me that sounds like a privileged class trying maintain their privilege. As a leftist, I’m not fond of privileged classes lol. I think that’s an issue with traditional views is it gives men an…

It’s awful how society treats mens mental health issues

I was hoping for more of a discussion about the topics in her video, and not rage bait. This was more of a commentary against baiting as she does in the video

Her weird comparison of liking short men to bestiality, while it was partly a joke, did not need to be in the video

Literally! She goes “here’s a bunch of research that shows men aren’t inherently oppressors by nature, but because I don’t agree with that it’s not true (based on my unqualified opinion)”

You’re fine bro, I mean I don’t think it’s necessarily bad that the dating market is less focused heterosexually now, but everything from how she arrives to conclusions to how she perceives men is just awful, toxic stuff

Kristen leo made a massively viewed video that attempts to paint society as inherently sexist. Section one is the worst as it’s just a flat out rejection of anthropological works because they are written by men. Her goal is plain to see: to paint human societies as inherently oppressive to women and to paint men as inherently sadistic or patriarchal. Her conclusion is based solely on this preconception. From here the video continues to demonize men and relationships with men. If this is a prevai…

I don’t mean to say men are inherently more violent or some misandrist bs, but only that men are statistically more likely to commit crime. So that’s how stereotypes start. I think you are entirely right that this is a factor of numerous mediating variables.

Is doesn’t mean ought though. I guess you could make an argument that mens voting voting rights were justified based on their duty here. But that is entirely subjective and only justified off what you perceive as historical precedent. You say the court ruled that voting rights are based on military service duties or whatever, but the law nowadays says women are allowed to vote, so that basis has likely changed. I don’t think any citizens should be forced to go out and possibly die in war for par…

Simply speaking from my personal experience, anyone who has gone out of their way to emphasize how men have “built society” have made explicit stances on how men are above women or that women should be held to a lower value or position in society. This isn’t stemming from me shoehorning this idea into their brains or whatever. These people, regardless of why they have created these positions, are a threat to societal cooperation. Now I do agree that we shouldn’t demonize al of men, and I don’t b…

No offense, it’s just I’ve argued with so many people on the internet over the years that I know when and when not to continue a debate. The pursuit of knowledge should be separate from debate most of the time, because most debates are pointless. I’m not saying you’re wrong necessarily just that we both clearly have very different views and I’m not interested in trying to change your mind.

Toxic masculinity is the issue. Alienated young men flock to RP forums and stuff over their frustration with gender relations. They choose to not have a safe space, they choose to have a hate space to vent their anger at those who they think have hurt them. It’s a massive flaw to blame women for a single individual or perception of harm that has harmed you. I frankly don’t care at that point if they’re “hurting” or “in pain” because they chose a very unhealthy way to vent it that is harmful to m…

I don’t think predicting personality is necessarily the same as the dogmatic absolutes of RP. However, I totally see your point about people in the Manosphere could use this to their benefit. Hopefully, there is a counter to this phenomena technologically ya know?

The way RP and PUA obsess over sex has always been gross to me. I’ve always been very encapsulated by having a romantic partner to love and care for etc… you know like something out of a romance movie, and it was weird for me to realize that there are people who treat partners like sex objects. I’m not asexual in any way though. At least for me, sex is an important part of the romantic bonding process. I personally think that, while it’s not objectively better, many people enjoy the desires of l…

Parents set the groundwork for healthy social interaction of their children. They might not directly impact their children through specific lessons, but a strong family bond is usually associated with healthy peer and romantic relationships. How do you think the usually way is that someone avoids falling into red pill ideology as they grow up if not mirroring their role models?

I don’t have much time right now but to summarize you’re saying that we shouldn’t demonize men in our pursuit against red pill ideas? And sure while women may have been oppressed throughout history I’m not saying that men didn’t achieve great things in their time. But I do have a problem with suggesting males are superior because of that when it was more circumstance than sex that allowed them to do this. Which I don’t think you are trying to say here btw. Relating this to your post in suicide a…

To me it seems like a cult of people who strongly desire a very controlled view of how relationships work. It reminds me of something someone said to you under a recent-ish post. They said “This asinine pathology that you shouldn’t do anything to have a partner or build a relationship of some kind is ridiculous.” This is the mindset of people enveloped in the red pill ideology. They see non red pillers as absurd people with no direction to what they’re doing. They think the idea of humanizing pe…

I actually don’t completely disagree. While you may or may not be understating the accomplishments of women, I do agree with the feminist perspective here that women have been in a state of oppression that definitely made it difficult to achiever what men could. It’s just reality unfortunately. And I also agree we should be respectful to these people, I don’t think we should show too much sympathy to misogynistic players in the war of cultures here.

I don’t think he should be censored necessarily, but he is absolutely spreading very harmful information. Also, how are men being treated abusively in any way that women are not? That’s the problem with the red pill ideology is that, while exredpill people often acknowledge both genders face tough issues, the red pill seems to suggest that women have it easy while men are basically slaves to a female society.

Difference between evolutionary science and psychology and the misrepresentations and poor studies that RP claims as evidence. This is the exact purpose of the sub here… to counter that. Plus there is a difference between the group identity of the redpill and the antithesis to a group identity. It’s not hypocrisy as it’s a rejection of a general dogma, not the acceptance of a new dogma.

Red pill promotes a very cynical worldview. I was definitely the most suicidal during that period. He isn’t necessarily saying that men need women to prevent suicide, but more the RP promotes a very negative mindset on human relationships and healthy relationships are very beneficial to well being.

Yeah that’s true. I also find this guys argument that men are now told they are evil and useless. It’s like the second you question the narrative, people like him go into a fit of concern trolling and complaining “waaaah don’t demonize men!” When we’re literally just pointing out that men are not superior beings.

One question I have is, at least regarding your detox post, you say the point is to provoke skepticism of the redpill, not necessarily to debunk it, yet the approach past that seems to be studies… debunking red pill claims. And most of the community seems to be fully against the red pill. Don’t you think this makes things a little confusing?

I think it’s safe to say it’s a blend of factors that not everyone will all think of the same way. Being a good person is important but rarely are the “nice guys” actually nice guys.

It’s not that women dislike shy guys. I think it’s more that shy guys don’t take the initiative to approach women

This is true, but it is also true that women have been in an overall state of oppression so they literally could not achieve as much as men.

I finally found a clip of it but it didn’t include the full context so I still don’t really know in what context the claims were said. But I’m willing to just concede they’re both wrong then, because from the clip she sounds like an entitled idiot or a female red piller type of person and she was definitely wrong on the income thing. But poverty is a factor in obesity although the clip I saw did not include the part in which she said that so she may have meant something entirely wrong. I guess s…

Well that’s kind of my point. People are just looking at literally to root words of the term “incel” and then ignoring the massive social meaning that has been added to the term over the years. When people say “incel” they are pretty clear on what they are referring to. To obfuscate the social context of the word is to apply “incel” to an irrelevant group that no one is really talking about.

“Hey women” is way less weird than “hey females” and you know that. Don’t be absurd lol. Plus you would say “hey ladies” if you wanted to make it even more normal. How does saying “woman” exclude anyone other than a fraction of a percent that may or may not have an issue with the term?
/r/ExRedPill07/09/21 02:37 PM

Saying that incel just means involuntarily celibate and that they arent misogynist like some people are saying is just a vast misunderstanding of the actual use of language nowadays. Just a bunch of concern trolling enlightened centrists. Incel is a description of a specific type of celibate who is 99% of the time a misogynist and blames women for his shortcomings.
/r/ExRedPill07/09/21 02:32 PM

That would mean any virgin that wasn’t practicing abstinence is an “incel” but we typically use the term incel to refer to a specific type of celibate with a subset of misogynist beliefs.

Women describes a subsect of people usually while females describes a biological phenomena. It’s like saying “hey humans” instead of “hey people” you would sound like an alien. If you don’t get it fine, but most people would think saying “males and females” is a little strange compared to men and women.

Yeah this guy is 100 percent bullshitting you. In no reality do RP guys describe “being a jerk” in the way he did. They nearly always mean some form of “dread game” variant or just being an asshole. PSN has it backwards, as the RP coaches usually pretend that their asshole behavior is something less than what it is like “just standing up for yourself and asserting yourself” or something like that. When in reality they’re just assholes
