Normal as in accepted or preferred by the majority. The norm.

Oh, now I get it. I understood your response wrong. Excuse me. In that case I wouldn't mind having kids with said woman, yet the issues that usually come along with being a step parent would still be there (the kid not accepting and whatnot...). A woman with no kids would still be preferable.

Of course I care about nurturing and raising a new human. It's just I would prefer to nurture and raise “my” no human so to speak. Plus adopting is different from being a step father. Children with one single parent come from a broken home (unless the partner/spouse is deceased) while orphans don't have a home at all.

Why is wanting to have your own kids so hard to understand? I would love to raise a child that looks like me. I think it's a pretty normal thing.

Why exactly? I genuinely do not see how it's bad. Not to say I see children that aren't my own as worthless or something. I would even adopt if I had the opportunity. I just don't want to be part of a broken home if that makes sense.

Whoa, now let's not get carried away. I never said children are at fault for anything nor did I say I see them as property. There is something called a bloodline. Some people (or men in this case) would like to continue it or at least have a child that looks like them/has some of them. Also, there are situations in which kids don't see their step parents as their real parents. So why would I want to be a father to a kid that doesn't even see me as such. Again, not to say the kid is at fault, but…

Wanting children of your own and willing to raise/take care of another man's child are two different things.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
