I can feel your situation and my thinking is you need to just keep going to the gym and simply work around it using any way possible - my rationale is body and mind are connected - gym is kind of ‘feeding’ our masculinity. Without gym - we don’t lose muscle we lose our identification with our masculine self. Not sure how you can work around it but I can see a bunch of advice here that you could apply - ultimately try to keep the lift life going one way or the other.

So what’s your usual opening line/s and how do you quickly differentiate that you’re not just the average Joe trying to leach value but give value?

Sounds ok Another thing, possibly weird but take it or leave it - since I’ve been at the gym if I need to do it (let’s say 1 a week) then I’ll look at myself in the mirror and project my masculine energy before doing it - I don’t know if that’s a good thing but seems to be better than laying in the dark or something.

Context here Sit at home and do nothing to improve yourself - not a good thing Getting shit done, eating really well, taking names etc and just have a little excess abundance you need to relive - ok Obviously it’s a slippery slope.

Just use one of those electric razors to shave it down and then use a Gillette razor to shave it down finely. Repeat 1-2/week.

It’s not really all your issues though but the issues of other people projected onto you that you choose to accept

If you combine it with the right nutrition it really works for me. Foods that bring me into a real good state are eggs, potato, olive oil (tonnes of it), good veggies I feel godly but if I consume bread, milk, take-away or some anti nutrient type food I feel like I’m an old man withering away.

I mean if a dude can simply fix his diet up, training and have a lean muscular healthy body with good clothing, haircut and attitude and just apply themselves that’s probably putting you ahead of curve before anything else even happens.

You’re probably one of those people that has to analyse everything logically to the point of ad nauseum but most people don’t really do that. Makes it hard to relate, you aren’t having a scientific discourse with people and getting out test tubes.

One thing you can do is buy a cheap pair of skin fold Callipers (should be on amazon for ~$10). What you do is take three basic measures (ab, chest and thigh) and track those. You don’t have to worry about trying to convert that online to a body fat % estimate - you just need to keep measuring it to check your skin folds and whether the weight gain is translating to increased skin folds or not.

No that’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying, being in great shape, showing it and then having a very clear solid voice and point speaking into the camera. Let’s break it down. Ideally you’d want to reach more people. Fitness market is saturated on YouTube - the shreddedness has been stepped up a lot. So how does your video stand out as something i would watch? What do you bring to the table that resonates with the audience? Otherwise it just becomes a little generic and yeah maybe you get 1000 vie…

Seems generic. If I was in great shape (I’m lifting every day but even my physique is not top tier yet) I’d just set up a video without a shirt on standing in a room with good acoustics talking to the video. Let’s look at best fitness YouTube guys - Athlean X, Scooby, Kinobody, CT Fletcher. Either shirt is off or you have massive gains to show. That’s what the market likes - gains. Then I’d have a specific topic like ‘Why training to failure sucks/good’ or ‘5 reasons you aren’t making gains’ or …

So let me get this straight either you’re gorging yourself on ~4000 calories or eating a paltry 1800 calories? Why does it have to be so polarised? Let’s assume for arguments sake your calorie intake (maintenance) should be 3,000. That would mean you’re going for 1,000 cal surplus or 1,200 deficit. Lyle McDonald suggests a surplus of 100-200 cal is likely all that’s needed and there’s very little empirical evidence that suggests otherwise. You see what I’m saying? Or you just want to be a tub?

Anytime you’re living out of home you’re going to have to take care to ‘audit’ the entire situation (landlord, contract details, neighbours, state of the house) to make sure you’re good.

Research is showing 2 times per week per muscle group is probably about optimal with even higher frequencies potentially as you become more advanced. Obviously also depends on the volume in each session and how often muscles are trained to failure Worth a read
