Ugh, I knew this girl in college that was a black lesbian and also pretty overweight. She was such a shit person. Would constantly say escalating or mean things to people. Inevitably someone would call her out on it and she’d accuse them of being either racist, sexist, homophobic, or fat phobic. Every time.

I'm all for rehabilitation. But if you intentionally accuse someone of a false crime, you should be eligible for the same penalty. And if you sit and watch your victim serve that time, that should be your MINIMUM time.

Honestly crazy the lengths unis will go to in order to appear unbiased. I was one of the founder of a pro-LBGT group on my campus. The first of its kind in the state. I wasn't LBGT, my friend was bi. We just were interested and wanted a good place for people to meet and talk. The school gave other clubs shit and we got $1000 per term to use at our discretion. That included bar tabs for "club meetings." Obviously it just turned into once a year shitfests with a bunch of cool people. The club ende…

It could still be sexism if traditionally male dominated fields are paid more per work than female dominated fields. Obviously a LOT goes into those metrics though. A STEM Engineering proff has a very different resume from an English Proff.

I'll end up doing it accidentally with the GF sometimes. Within 3 seconds we laugh and one of use will unilaterally just put their card out farther. NBD. In SE asia it was interesting though because we'd do it there and the GF would end up putting her card litterally in the teller's hands and they'd stare at me like "Are you sure it's okay that she pays?" They'd always have me make the final decision as the male.

There's the argument that because men are generally stronger than women, self-defense should be proportionate. That you should hit back only as hard has you think it will take to stop them. But it's an unfair onus on the victim to have to assess the aggressor's strength before retaliating. You never know if the 110lbs women that has backed you into a corner has a weapon or formal fight training. I've seen plenty of funny reddit videos of small people expectantly taking down large opponents becau…

On one hand, somebody shouldn't be physically restrained just for not wearing a mask unless they keep trying to get near people. On the other, people should be able to get away with small offenses that don't meet the requirement for physical restraint.

Pre-nups make sense in many situations and don't in others. Having spent a lot of time in divorce courts (state-dependent): A judge determines what the parties are entitled to in a non-amicable divorce. Theoretically, this is based on legal precedent and fair. The money/property you made before marriage is yours, unless you're stupid in how you handle it. Inheritance is yours, unless you're stupid in how you handle it. IMO If I give up my job to raise kids while my wife has a career then it is F…

Seriously. I knew a girl in college who bragged that she'd never had a relationship she didn't cheat in. She was very attractive, and BRAGGED that she was a cheater. Still, guys went after her. They obviously were looking for something other than a relationship. Time and time again, she'd cheat, they'd leave, she'd be a mixture of empowered and depressed. I don't envy her.

That's why there's the middleaged women stereotype "Karens" are just women who used to be considered attractive and are dealing with less privilege for the first time in their lives. Not all, but some women rely on their looks more than they know. There comes a point for them, seemingly out of nowhere, when life gets much harder. People aren't as polite, people are less lenient, society values you less, and you get jaded. Men don't experience it as much because society doesn't weigh looks as hea…

The record is public so that someone can't get disappeared. The policy keeps the govt/cops accountable. But it is a double edged sword obviously. I do not live in one of those states. A drunk driver hit me and now my name is in multiple news reports online for "being involved in a drunk driving accident." They don't report the arrested's name and the way it's phrased makes it look like I did it.

I've seen this point brought up often. Most times someone refutes it by saying it would scare real survivors from coming forward. There's a huge difference in dismissing a sexual assault case due to lack of evidence vs evidence that the victim was lying. Proving someone intentionally lied about being raped is very difficult short of a confession. Almost always it can be chalked up to a misunderstanding. No one should feel worried about bringing a true account forward.

Honestly that's not an example of a Pussy Pass but more a male disadvantage (Dick Tax?). Everyone deserves to have officers give this sort of patience and attempt at deescalation. Males get this effort less because of physical and societal reasons, none of which are necessarily justified.

Not sure why the definition specifies white women. A black or Latina woman being called a Karen for the same behavior wouldn't surprise anyone. The saddest part of this scandal was that some of the kids going to prestigious schools didn't know their parents had paid for them to get in. Suddenly, all their self-worth is destroyed. They'll never know now if they actually got in to college anywhere, let alone the school they went to.

Many airlines still don't allow male passengers to sit next to unaccompanied young passengers. [British Airways, Qantas, Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia] refused to allow unaccompanied children to be seated next to adult males on their flights, leading to criticism that they regard all men as a danger to children. Definitely. I'm a big James Bond fan. My GF asked if it would make a difference if the new James Bond was black. "hmm, no" But what if it was a woman? It's interesting, but I really don't think James Bond could be a woman. My GF agreed but it offended our friend. A female JB would simply be a different character. That's fine, a female British spy movie from the cold war era would be interesting. There are plenty of examples of good female action movies, as listed above, but the fact is that Bond…

Those are my favorite. Half my community came to the side of a cyclist who was hit by a driver. Cyclists are frequently unseen but also known for running stop signs. The cyclist community came out en masse in the local news paper website. "This is the danger we deal with, drivers don't even look for us!" How heartless Every story like this diminishes the credibility of true survivors. Another comment says "I'm surprised they even bother to investigate her claims instead of just believing her." Well this is all true. Don't know why it's getting down voted. I know it sucks knowing that the woman got benefitted from being something males aren't. But what it comes down to is both the girl and OP wanting the same thing, to be treated equally. The woman feels like she's treated differently from "pretty" girls. OP feels like he's treated differently from women. Let's all just try our best to treat people the same.
