I usually go with some variation on "does he let you have friends?" Be careful with that one though... Awkward delivery or bad energy from you can make it sound aggressive.

Well I won't sugar coat it - no matter what you do in the direction of being with her romantically, it will change the nature of your relationship. Next question: what is the current nature of your relationship - are you flirtatious? Have you had anything in the past? Any sexual tension? Does she even see you as a romantic option yet?

Having been in and seen many people in this situation, my advice will entirely depend on how valuable this friendship is to you. Do you want to give it a shot and see where it goes even with the possibility that it will change the nature of your friendship if it doesn't work out? Do you want to date this girl or just fuck her and who cares what happens after? More fulfilling to date her IMO but each to their own...

Agreed, sometimes patience will REALLY pay off. One girl took 5 months but by god she was worth the wait. For high volume PUA's doing 3-4 dates a night I get why it wouldn't be time efficient to wait around for a kiss, but for those of us who don't do things this way I can't stress patience enough.

This is how I do things too, but I personally don't like to have hard and fast rules about whether I pay for things. There are some situations in which I'd pay, the most common one being, that I get the feeling that while she's not expecting to be paid for by me, it would really make her feel great.

The reason this is complex mentally is that you don't have the DHV from having friends with you, or the safety of falling back to them. If you get rejected (which let's face it guys - is what we all spent the first 1-100 tries doing) it will hurt just that little bit more.
