I made the same mistake. Assumed he was maybe an instructor or something. But he does have a Bluetooth in his left ear which definitely adds to the illusion the pulldown bar behind him helps create.

Bluetooth in his left ear (our right) and on his right (our left) is the pull bar from the machine behind him. It does look like a mic and thought the same, 'he's probably an instructor', until I realized that most of what I was attributing to being a mic was just the pull down bar. But yeah he's likely just on a Bluetooth call and/or just taking a breather.
