Or... you move on. This is a discussion sub, and you don't have to engage with every post. The OP is free to ask whatever question he'd like within the bounds of the subreddit rules. Guaranteed you wouldn't act this way should this have been a post on the same topic with the sex roles reversed. Calm yourself and either disengage from the sub or do what any normal/sane person does and skip posts you don't find interesting.

Yep; liquid courage. If you're attractive, they tend to approach you in bars and clubs rather than vice versa. It's true. They're far less likely to do it sober though. They need the courage that intoxicated dis-inhibition provides. Can confirm from personal experience.

True because we have access, via phones, laptops, PCs, etc., to a wealth of information and medical resources on the internet. Hell, even LLMs (such as ChatGPT) can tell you what you need to know if you don't want to use a browser. It's frequently an ignorance is bliss situation.

Most people are clueless about fitness and general health as well as relevant medical recommendations and guidelines. Many are also in profound denial about their own unhealthy habits. I’ll never forget the day I saw a morbidly obese lady years ago pushing a cart out of the grocery store with nothing but regular (not even diet) Coke stacked high within (and below) the cart. There was literally no space for anything else. Then we have those people that spend ages tanning and getting all the accel…

To a limit. I can't stress this point enough: being a mass monster is more of a negative than a positive. It's men that admire /respect that look. Not women (with some fringe cases/exceptions). Taking androgenic anabolic steroids (AAS) also frequently causes hair loss which will affect a guy's sexual appeal. In my experience, women can frequently tell when a guy is injecting as opposed to lifting as a natural (they're not as clueless about this as is stereotyped). They also associate an excessiv…

Can confirm from personal (& still ongoing) experience 💯 I mind my own business wherever I go. I neither cold approach nor hint at women and still get a lot of female attention. I do my own thing and they take notice. I also deliberately don't dress flashy or use anything that indicates money (to avoid attracting gold-diggers). Granted you have to be physically attractive and fit, but I'm not tall by US standards (5' 8.5" without footwear). Once you self-actualize and max out your looks and fitn…

In terms of obvious hints and hard-to-miss signs of interest: all the time. No matter where I go: the gym, Target, Costco, malls, bars/pubs, clubs, etc. I receive signs of interest from women of different ages. Direct approaches from women to start a conversation? A few in the gym (not always the type I'm fully attracted to,m however). Otherwise, outside in the wider public, I don't get cold approached the way men do women. Women are taught (incorrectly, in my opinion) that it would make them lo…

🤦🏻 come on now. Women left, right & center can be constantly heard saying, proudly, that they're "the prize in the relationship". Many women seem to love this narrative and wouldn't want it the other way around. Head outside and interview/survey 100 women. Ask them who they think the prize in a heterosexual relationship is: next to all of them would answer that it's the woman, not the man 🤷🏻.

Two things can be simultaneously true: She has the right to dress the way she likes. I have the right to dislike it, communicate my dislike for it and/or leave. I cannot force her to dress a certain way and she can't force me to stay.

Marriage is more of a risk to the higher earner of the two partners. In general, that would typically be the man in the relationship, but that's not always the case. If the woman in the relationship earned more than her partner, it would be in her interest to acquire a prenuptial or avoid marriage, not him. But, yes, it is a risk. At it's core, it's nothing but a legal contract between two people recognized by the state. What's insidious about it, however, is that it inherently incentivizes the …

In my experience, both men and woman can be really nasty. Human envy knows no bounds.

Based on several of the comments within this thread, it's clear this subreddit is gradually becoming the new FDS. This subreddit has a handful of well-adjusted people, but it's clearly also attracting a lot of jaded, spiteful, un-empathetic, vitriolic, I-got-mine personalities as well. A shame.

Agreed; just the other day at a pool party, I was being hit on by a good-looking woman (if I had to guess, I’d say she was late 20’s; 8.5+ if I had to give a rating), but I just couldn’t reciprocate. The more we talked, the more vain and entitled she seemed and all I could think about was how many men had given her attention regardless because of the way she looked. Because of the simping epidemic, there’s less and less need for women to develop a personality and more reason for their personalit…

No, not at all. No one should ever harass the other regardless of gender. Your question regarding him making alternative plans or setting alternative dates is valid, but the problem is that we don't know if he did offer alternative plans since OP didn't provide (anywhere near) enough information. Having said this, I will also admit that I did take OP's description at face value when the events he described may not have happened the way he'd made it look in his post since he's not his female frie…

I'll explain. He did not reject her multiple times in the way the word "rejection" is typically, if not almost strictly, used. Now, it could simply be the way in which OP had told this story but I'm going to assume that what is in the original post is true since it's the only information we have to work with: This man had taken her out on 5 dates before. This woman is clearly interested in him (and it's safe to assume he's treated her well by extension) since she's the one asking him for more. T…

I'd say "good riddance" and find a woman who's more mentally stable. She's not the only one with options. I can also replace her rather easily 🤷🏻.

On-point. In addition, if this cycle repeats (due to failed relationships and/or her exposure of dating prospects to her child/children too early), the child/children will have to adapt to a new stranger on a semi-regular basis which creates uncertainty and an expectation that a father-like figure that enters their life is only going to disappear eventually. It's just not healthy for the child the way it tends to pan out most of the time.

Agreed. It certainly would be an outlier/the exception. And even if it weren't the exception, stating it unironically as a reason to support entering a relationship with a single mother is very odd/ludicrous at best.

I read that and also thought this person was taking the piss. Either that or they're a single mother who's trying to cope and self-convince. It really is a borderline brain-dead argument.

Love how the only elaboration to Online Dating is "lol" 😂 The "Cold Approach" still works, but I only consider it when a woman shows clear signs of interest and, even then, I'd only approach if I'm in the headspace for that sort of thing and I find her attractive. Perhaps we should start calling this method the "Natural Approach" instead and leave "Cold Approach" to making a move regardless of signs of interest. But, to reiterate, I personally never approach without signs of interest being sent …

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Qst7MKYrGTY (Link to a YouTube Short) This quote by Patrice O'Neal about how, for men, rejection is at the front end while, for women, rejection is at the back end is quite insightful. The very same logic can be extrapolated to settling as well since we (male & female) also settle differently: Women settle mostly when it comes to the short-term [sex] (women settle on the front end) Men settle mostly when it comes to the long-term [relationships/marriage] (men settl…
