Yes exactly only take away. When you are reasonable but firm people will get upset in the moment and in the end respect you. If you help them all the time they will see you as a pushover and someone who they can push their problem onto.

Exactly. A lot of good thoughts can be weighed down by their words. You don't have to be Jack Kerouac, but geeze OP learn to economize your words.

Also don't have to prove yourself to a stranger. Your reputation precedes you.

I took away some good stuff with the write up and comments. I rarely get tested, but sometimes I avoid because I feel I have the potential to really hurt people with my retorts. This is no good obviously because I internalize. I like the agree & amplify example and realized I sometimes use but not aware of the tool. Actually very practical. Neutralizing way of acknowledging their test and letting them know I am not to be tested in a conflict averse way. I am primarily talking in a male context (…

Good for you but wouldn't that be the nuclear option?

True but the same way shouldn't be using your credentials to spread misinformation. What you said is objectively false and tried to pass it off as expert advice. Which perpetuates stigma. Even worse when coming from a 'professional'.

Diagnosis are the best method for treatment although imperfect.

I know you're just a student but you're spreading misinformation. Manipulating other people is a whole other level of reasoning. THAT is a need for control. People with bi polar and BPD need control. They have an innate need to fuck you over and use you. This is not what they have in common. Diagnosis for the two is based on different factors. People that are suffering from Bipolar can display a wide range of unfavorable human characteristics but what you said above is not criteria for diagnosis…

So you're not against reading just reading fiction because it's 'irrelevant to here and now' and doesn't provide 'ROI'. Got it. What's the worst piece of fiction you have read?

Good point. You will always cycle periods endless self confidence with self doubt. This is human. Hopefully you are able to stay in between for the most part. . As long as you are working you will always improve but rarely get validation. The mantra you are never as great as you think you are or as bad helps me stay balanced. And it's true.

Terrible analogy but if you want a RP political financial thought leader read anything Ray Dalio of Bridgewater capital. His fundamentals are rooted in history, evolution, human desire, unadulterated truth and just fucking winning.

Every activity you do doesn't have to directly translate into splitting a woman's legs or getting fun coupons. I can't convince you to read fiction because you seem to have already made up your mind. The utility in reading fiction is opening up your brain in ways you never imagined. Being more interesting well rounded person is a byproduct of reading but more importantly having the ability to make connections/see parallels/have deeper understanding and empathy. I read both. NF: Currently reading…

Naw completely unrelated. Just commenting that people have funny ways of explaining complex deeply rooted truths in a light hearted tone. Can't find the comment now. Good shit keep it up.

LMAO. I dont know what I like better referring to one of the leading philosophical minds of modern age as 'that fucker' and how he 'knew what was up' or another dude calling some conjecture a 'santa clausian lie'. You guys have me rolling while putting me on game.

This true. You can disagree with someone face to face but not think they are a bad person and can see where they are coming from. Those different viewpoints of people you respect challenge your own and force you to learn more about what you ACTUALLY think. Simply can't happen in an online exchange.

I agree with what you said but I read it as not concrete goals OP has. More general ideas of big aspirations of bettering oneself in different areas. Moreso, than most people ever even setting them. If I am wrong and these are exact goals I agree that's cornball AF.

Screw fringe benefits. Give me cash and let me do my job that's it. I can do whatever I want with who I want with the cash provided outside of work. Maybe I'll spend it maybe I won't. I go to work to work and play to play.
