Thanks for the reply RRC. Good to be reminded that I have a lot to be thankful for. Any recommendations for high rep, lower weight programs? Are they still worth it in terms of aesthetic and functional outcomes?

Well played... Admittedly I wanted to draw an analogy with another type of relationship rather than an object.

Hey OP, I believe I've had the same questions and am going through the same experience as you. There are other comments assuring you that beautiful, virgin, godly women are out there. I cannot confirm this as I haven't got to know any as of yet. What I can tell you is truths from the Bible, these are things you can count on: 1 Corinthians 10:13 - You have never been tempted to sin in any different way than other people. God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tempted more than you can take.…

I agree that we don't have the full story here. We really don't have much on what changes he's made in 3 years. As a thought, you can go from a 1 to a 6 which is amazing and good on you however women aren't really all that keen on the average man. This is especially the case if you've been ineffective in the past and they've already taken your commitment for granted. Perhaps OP is not the type of guy his wife is attracted to (yet or ever). I definitely agree that perhaps respect and trust can be…

Not sure about cutting her off, but treating her like a roommate by expecting equal contribution to chores, rent/mortgage & expenses seems very reasonable.

Great followup post. Had a similar brainwave recently after going through the stages. This time, to use your words, I've gone from illegitimately empty to legitimately full without any change in circumstances, a first for me! I agree that having awareness of the cycle helps but sometimes we lose perspective. Great post, great graphic, thankyou for your efforts!

Hey Sadomasochrist, Thankyou so much for writing this post. I lurk heavily on the subreddit, but this well-reasoned post and your engagement in the comments about something I struggle with internally. My stats: 22yo, 165cm, 62kg, high teens BF DL: 95kg, SQ: 70kg Pretty decent face Final year medschool (Western, non-US means great pay and no debt straight out) Admittedly, im not as aesthetic as Archwig, I've only picked my sorry self up in the last 6 months. If I follow correctly, you are recomme…

Can I recommend: 'Guidance and the Voice of God' by Phillip Jensen and Tony Payne. Great book that really helped me at the start of the year. Has specific sections on Church,Work, Marriage and Suffering. Can be found here: http://www.matthiasmedia.com.au/guidance-and-the-voice-of-god OR https://www.amazon.com/Guidance-Voice-God-Tony-Payne/dp/1875245669 I also have a PDF if a mod would like to review it. :)

Thankyou for this brother! I have been and struggle with being A, B and C all rolled into one. I think a lot of it has to do with pride. Finding TRP requires a fair amount of critical thinking and introspection. My main mistake was to think that 'God gave me wisdom and an opportunity to fix it so now it's up to me to sort it out'. Basically a thanks for bailing me out God, I'll take it from here! Obviously a terrible idea in hindsight. We need to understand that we are failed beings and only God…

I'm sure that more senior members will be able to give you a more detailed response. In case you need a more immediate answer: Why on Earth are you telling her you want to see her again. Do yourselves both a favour and leave, lest you both are tempted further. Dating or any romantic endeavour for that matter is to assess compatibility for a christ-centred marriage. What you are describing clearly does not fit the bill. "Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteo…

I have an example that may illustrate this: Say you lend your friend $10 and they can't pay you back. You forgive the debt and you guys are still good buds. Doesn't mean you gotta lend him that $10 again next time. Forgiveness is not the same as trust.

I agree with RRC, there is some truth to what GEM is saying. I see non-virginity as more of a red flag honestly, past behaviour is the best (albeit very poor) predictor of future behaviour. I think when anyone is truly repentant of their past actions, it does show through. OP is rightly afraid of the 'born again virgins' that many of us meet at college and church. They do not think what they did was fundamentally wrong, just a 'necessary growing experience'. A relationship with that kind of woma…
