I'm in the same situation. I used to be the happy-go-lucky stoner who always blazed up with friends, had no job(but was in college) and just went with the flow. I then grew up and decided to join the army. I stopped smoking and moved away; I knew then things would change. Though, I didn't expect my friends to sort of 'bail' on me. They're still around and I see them now and again, but no where near as often as I'd like. One of my friends didn't smoke weed and had a job, but his boss was a tool a…

I have goals, however they're not so much a struggle but a long time away. It's just a matter of patience. Your interpretation of the fragile and rotten part is quite accurate as there is an obstacle which may set me back to the start. Failing my goals, I wouldn't feel bad about myself, more annoyed that I didn't get it. Not with myself, just in general as my goals may change my way of life for the more enjoyable. The horse, you got that pretty much to the T. You described a girl that's perfect …

What a load. My ego isn't high, but it's not "buried in the sand", I'm not a quiet or a boisterous person. I'm a bit "transparent" but I don't tend to allow many people to see in to my life, I'm more of a bottler. I do, however try to see into others (not through being nosy, I just love to help others before they help me). The "ladder" didn't really help with my answers, it gave me answers that I hadn't written down; maybe you can translate it: Fragile + rotten Made of wood and rope 30ft long an…

but is it wise to sort of concentrate on what they're interested in? Or try and make it about even? Because I tend to throw questions and it sometimes comes across as an interrogation and quite intimidating.

I'm just a computer networks engineer, so I've not seen combat. So talking about that isn't very interesting to most. And I tend to stay away from military birds, got knows what's fighting in their pants... I'm British and most army towns hate the military that pile through their pubs.

Sweet. My life experiences are legit, I've been to many countries, seen many things that no one I know (other than those with me) have seen. I'm in the Army, which usually works in my favour. I just basically seem to need to man the fuck up. It's just easier said than done. I guess it'll come. You made some good points about the fear. Thanks!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
