When my kids was 10 her Mom had major health issues. My daughter came to stay with me. Death was a low end possibility. . Just shy of 2 years later her Mom had her health back in order. My daughter was so pissed when her Mom wanted her to come back. She had good reasons. She listed them in reverse order as what her mom and I figured. But after that we let her choose where to live.

In the states, unless you're a representative of the government. you don't have a legal requirement to preserve evedence the other side may want to use. Yeah. The lawyers I've talked to have said she'll probably won't get locked up for it unless we can prove she's done alot more then that. But it's a point to negotiate with. From what you have said it sounds like neither of you is going to be on the hook for spouses support. Most states have a calculator. Play with the number of years to. She could be holding on to get a life long payment from you. That will cost more in the long run. If your concerned how it will look to a judge refuse to pay for anything that your ex can't prove is from more than 4 years ago. And limit your self to paying for half.
